if it is possible to "revive" ultra well known classic oldies that have been constantly in-demand and popular for the last 30 years, then why not revive this lesser known (comparatively speaking) one. link

Marvin Gaye "Heard It Through The Grapevine" as it was my first Soul tune I heard fror that reason and it created my general interest in this kind of music (still in my alltime top twenyt) Len Barry "1-2-3" as it opened my ears for the sounds beside Motown and Stax, as I did not know (although thought so) at that time that there is Soul beside those two giants Little Anthony & The Imperials "Better Use Your Head" as it was the first real Northern track I heard for that reason. Hi, I just felt the need to inform you that Northern Soul has been in Germany since 1985 at least. Strong regional scenes are in and around Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg , Leipzig/Dresden and Berlin of course where I had the joy and pleasure to celebrate the 14th anniversary allnighter of my Hip City Soul Club together with DJ Butch last month. I think we play a healthy mixture of classic tunes, semiknowns and future items of interest there. Please feel free to read my article in the last two isssues of Shades Of Soul for deeper inlook in the German Scene. The top ten plays you are referring to are from one of the two major events (not the Hip City Soul Club) and have not been changed since 1996 when the site was installed by my friend Hannes Rosenhagen, who is also one of the deejays at the Roter Salon.
