  1. No way that this can be described as a Funk record..if that is Funk half of my collection is Funk However, Mr Troutman, you should give the flipside a close listen next time you have the chance...a very nice decent Soul tune if you asjk me
  2. Or wait till the next one is on ebay or up on here for sale
  3. Funk Guys ? Where is the Funk in that (very nice) tune ? However, I sold my copy again me thinks too quick for about a hundred last year
  4. Think the one Shifty had up for auction lately went for way more then a grand marc
  5. Same as Phil Flowers ? Who wrote it ? TIA Marc
  6. Hi Derek, should info Dan...he` s after one...especially at this nice price
  7. I am on about the run out groove, the silent one to improve the moulding of your record
  8. And easy to detect as well as the legit ones have # 58486 scratched in the dead wax as have the pressings # 96977. Marc
  9. And what a bargian still...should be around 100
  10. Seconded. I wasn` t sure if you meant 550 is 200 too short or not. On second reading I see what was meant
  11. Anyone have an idea what their "Ohh Poh Pa Doo" 45 should be valuewise ? TIA Marc
  12. Yep, absolutely seconded
  13. As I needed a new copy I bought one at 15 UKP some months ago..."Storm Warning" is fetching this kinda money though. At least as a WD.
  14. So you think it worth 750 UKP ? I am not trying to have a go on you, just want to make sure I do understand your posting correct ? Marc
  15. Remember Flynny turning down the speed on my deck while I was spinning this four years ago saying "You wanna kill the people on the floor ? It` s too fast to dance to"
  16. Being a big fan of this mans output on Colpix, May, Tra-x, Purdy, Old town, Pilma and that rose coloured label whose name escapes me at the mo I must admit that this particular 45 does nearly (!) nth for me though. Having said so I can see why it could / does appeal to some
  17. I simply love it and every time I hear it I get chills up and down my spine (or what was that phrase again ?). Truly awesome BLACK goup mover and oh so soulflul...btw, I think it is not the Chicago based Salem label if anyone was wondering... Marc
  18. Sold a mint copy about two years ago for sth like 150 UKP
  19. I know records like George Lemons and Hayes Cotton are not to everybodys liking (but to mine ) but how someone can not like the Professionals, Magnetics, Terry Goodnight , Nelson Sanders and Bernard Williams (nevertheless I would always go for the Gene Woodbury release as it is more to suit my daily financial situation...but I would therefore not call the Bell 45 shite...) is totally beyond me. But then again you can not argue about taste and the variety in it is what makes it all so special anyway. Beside that I fully back every single word by Hammy. True words. Simply spot on Marc
  20. Thanks all
  21. Whats that one going for anyway ? Marc
  22. Of course it is "The Way That You Treat Me Baby"...note to myself: I should type slower
  23. At least one shares my opinion on that one
  24. I don`t think you will get an answer as I already asked him days ago if it would be possible in case I win the record to pick it up at his place person to person....do I really need to tell you I got no response ?
  25. just found a really nice cheapie in the shape of his balladesque "Where Do I Belong". Another great HB Barnum production on Capitol...only a tenner and I am speaking of Euros here
