  1. Having had both I can say that the Lyrics version is a different recording/version. The bass ain`t that heavy on the Lyrics 45 and Tobi Bullards is a bit more laid back. Where does the info come from that the Tobi Bullard is a boot ? TIA Marc
  2. Well, wouldn`t risk a guess myself, but being a fan of the musical output of both cities I can say that I do have only one third of NYC Soul 45s in comparison to how many Detroit Soul 45s. Whatever that goes to show you (or me)
  3. terrific 45 and another favourite of mine
  4. Top 45 indeed Just heard it for the first time ever some months ago (somehow overlooked it all the years ) and secured me luckily enough very fast a copy on ebay

  12. add another one, RIKA....off Tommy Bush "I Don`t Like It"...and yes, I do like cats
  13. Personally it does remind me on the Fantastics "Me & You" SS7, which btw is the tune I always play afterwards
  14. Also would like value on this, at a guess 15 UKP ? TIA
  15. Can anyone shed some light on this question, many thanks
  16. Well, how about Kick Off Records then ? It does look quite tasty and reminds me on the design Merging records had, which is quite odd as the only 45 I have on Kick off is by Garland Davis and is a beautiful version of the Carl Underwoiod biggie on Merginhg which I also have. Garland Davis btw I strongly believe is none other than the young Ray Agee. Why ? Because first he has Zeke Strong as his bancking band and this guy is on nearly every single recording done by Ray Agee and second, the flipside offers a beautiful slow deep scorcher which shows that the voice is oh so similar to Ray Agee..so where were we at , right newly beloved label designs...KICK OFF is my contribution then
  17. No idea really...saw two and got hold of one, both WD`s. I think you could go up to 150 UKP ?
  18. A strong Hip City spin of mine over here in Berlin, great record, slow-midtempo beat ballad, very much semiknown, get it while you can, can`t do RA`s
  19. Well, we had that topic on another site some years ago and from what I remember (as they are unlikely to have changed..) mine were USA HYPE STAX (the old "record pile" logo) PUSSYCAT ...gotta agree on the "Miss Hemisphere" though
  20. "My Heart Is In Trial" ...still the best ender of them all..."Last Dance" by Lee Fields on a "slightly more funky" note
  21. Have answered your pm
  22. Hi, have a WD and an issue , both in mint minus...let me know if and which you want. Marc
  23. 3.560 in the end with a different high bidder every two seconds or so during the last couple of seconds...really a very nice tune. Just heard it out again last saturday in Hamburg
  24. Oh yes, seconded. Both are two great and cheap 45s Another (current) fave of mine on Fame is Clarence Carter "You WOn`t Dio Right" Marc
