  1. For a proper re-issue he would have to find John Harris to get the rights to the song. Now, thats a task about 200 people at a guess have so far failed to suceed in..
  2. no, mine came via stateside the same moment that Paul sold his to someone in Scandinavia who now lives in New York ;) The information of the record having been done in 1966 came from the label owner with whom I did some sort of a small interview when I had tracked him down which again was about the same time when I got my record, winter 2010.
  3. Definitely not on my La Beat WD. You hear that one bar in question less loud for a second but its no way like that skip on the youtube link.
  4. Its "only" 1700 USD and not UKP but still, unbelievable indeed. a unsleeved stored and vg- record...with two (!) cracks. and yet already on its way to achieve more than guide price. c-r-a-z-y indeed!
  5. 1966, I played the also VERY nce flipside on solar radio last year. for an idea you can listen to it at here (it starts at 52.20 min if you dont want to listen to the complete show)
  6. no, that went to scandinavia and enjoys the ney york city climate these days.
  7. know a English dealer/collector/dj recently found a copy in his collection. he told me he didnt knew it was so indemand.. dont know if he sold it (which would make it the same person you are talking about rod) or still has it (which in fact would be more likely I would have thought). I will ask him.
  8. but its true indeed, none of the roughly so far "known" one anda half handful of copies have turned up here in Germany. All via stateside. The reason as I already once stated when telling the whole background to this story after I had tracked down the label owner is that the record was a paid for job by John Harris who was a GI who played with his soul Sayers the southern German US Air Bases. All 250 copies were sold during those concerts (to GI`s) no Germans were allowed in back then. So it seems all remained copies were taken back home once the GIs went back to the USA. A bit of a similar situation and background as with Salt & Pepper really if you think about it..
  9. I remember steve rushing to the decks when I played this at the Hip City some ten years ago, informing me how surprised he was to hear it (again and here at the Hip City) and that it was "his" spin decades ago
  10. ..was my belief till I just looked into popsike...obviously I was way behind with my idea as all copies during the last four years have sold between 900 and 3000 usd. still hard to believe when this title was amongst the more easy to get hold of shrine 45s along jimmy armstrong etc in the 90s
  11. 1200 gbp ? never. had three different copies over the years and sold the last at 500 which i thought was expensive. maybe 600/700 tops nowadays but surey not in the same price league as eddie daye, enjoyables etc. ?
  12. ...have you looked at ray pollard ? now thats what I would call obscene. Or worse LOL !
  13. you never know, have you tried emailing the fella ?
  14. Jörg Brenner in Munich has one too
  15. we would need george to testify wether he has sold it, at which price and how many were interested. Personally I am not involved in either sale so I wish every seller to sell at his wish price and every buyer to buy at his/her wish price.
  16. hopefully (and no sarcasm is intended here) its an original and not one of them recent numero re-issues ? they look very close...
  17. what a bargain that was then, almost only two third of what the starting offer was here a few weeks ago
  18. I I once had the pleasure to guest-deejay togther with a certain UK dj at a German allnighter and he played said record. Thats about ten years ago. when where the white dj copies done and are they legit ?
  19. some fine tunes here Peter, remember dancing to the Startones on Billie Fran an old fave of mine and Hip City classic...needed a break after that LOL
  20. two as far as I know, but thats not making any difference really. Andy, if you see yourself able to better your offers for Little Kim and Sterphonics feel free to tempt me ;) btw its fred & the turbines, its their other cenco rel. that is credited to only the turbines
  21. haha, no youre possibly not...its just the absolutism used in manships list of releases that clearly states "1. distorted issue, 2.re-press that plays fine plus 3.WD`s that are slightly off-center".. which reads like all the WD around are off-center.
  22. Hi Richard, the matrix reads "SI-C 10003 A SIDE 344" on "JSYWAN" and "SI-C 10003 B SIDE 344" on the flipside.
  23. if thats true -and I have no reason to doubt- its almost answering one of my questions...in that there are more WD`s around that are not off-center and/or jumping. which again would tend to make it most likely to be a fact that there are four different releases/presses around ?
  24. collecting Detroit I must admit I never heard of that 2nd press story and would like to know more. When were they done, slightly after the first run and in order to replace them missprinted 45s or later ? Is it another case of the artist or producer or whoever re-pressing them years later trying to meet demand ? Obviously the same stampers have been used so they seem to be "original" ? I used to have a non-jumping but towards the end distorted issue which needed to be faded out towards the end when playing out. I still have a WD thats neither jumping nor off-centre. I am just saying this because JM names three different original releases incl. the WD copies that are off-centre. If my WD isnt off-center I am sure there must be more like that which would add a fourth release of "JSYWAN" ? Isnt it amazing how stories like this keep cropping up and get a explained half a century after they have been recorded and decades after the first started collecting them precious 45s ? really amazes me, its good!
