  1. Oh my, I am definitely not looking hard enough
  2. --> QUOTE(C.B @ Jun 4 2007, 04:08 PM) link George Smallwood "Hey mamma" (SMALLWOOD) - 100 GBP - His best modern dancer imo. Bargain price. CB Wow, what a bargain price indeed.....nice to see you again CB!
  3. ...I think thats why we all talk about "...known copies". Thats why threads like this are so helpfull as already some collectors put their hands up telling us that they have a copy of this and that. However, I do agree with you that there are so many unknown collectors out there who do not dj, use the various forums or even remember what they do have at home that of course there are many many rarities tucked away in collections we do not even know about. For example I just heard last night about an Arthur Willis copy....which will be "available" maybe soon
  4. Can I in this case have one for 5 % of its "current rate"
  5. Another rare one would be Jimmy & The Sundiales "Where Did I Loose You" V-Tone, Val Shively has an issue and I happily own the V-Tone Test Press...anymore copies ? Steve Smith told me that he discovered the tune druing the Stafford days and found three ? Marc
  6. Tim once told me about an offer of 50.000 USD he turned down... Marc
  7. Two I understand, one in the UK and one in Munich, Germany (found for 15 cents in a book exchange shop in Dallas, Texas)
  8. /index.p...ic=46541&hl I had the James Winfield "I`m A Man In Love" (tune!) on my last tape.... I do also have the storming Charles Smith "You Need Eduaction" but no further information on the label. Marc

The multi-coulored is the rarer of the two options. Shouldn`t cost more then 250 UKP though
  10. Another point to be added is that the acetate shows handwritten release numbers...which none of the original Jobete acetates had. As an acetate is normally done before the release, obviously no one would be able to know already the release number...this plus the known facts about the company itself (year of foundation etc.) lets me to believe that this acetate is as much authentic as the one from the same manufactory that had J.D. Bryant (Washington) on one side and another big (Detroit) rarity on the other side...that was on ebay some years ago... As the seller had some great early Detroit 45s up for auction I tend to imagine that the guy he bought the stuff from had this plate done to fill the gap in his collection as the Contours and especially Chico Leverett are two really dog rare Motown pieces. I bought my Chico about seven years ago and never saw another one...talking of rare Motown items I am really surprised to see that Saundra Mallet is still only at 10 UKP .... rarer as the Contours IMVHO (no matter which of the two released versions). Marc
  11. Well, reminds me on the last record fair I did over here...deejayd the night befor eto be woken up by the door bell at 8 in the morning...no breakfast nu lunch...only STANDING behnid my records...the table next to me sold a reocrd every five minute (East German -GDR- pop 45s...) and me I did not even sell one single 45! Suddenly I sold one at 15 Euros...only to hand over the money to the promoter the next minute for the table rent...never again. I prefer to go with me beloved one on sunday for a walk across town and wood... Marc

  17. I could be well wrong with that thought but as I said I always thought he has got it. But having said that he`s got so many blinding things that he is not (yet?) playing it could well be that he is also not playing "his" Genebro 45. Who knows. Marc
