  1. I do not think that "CC" is so much more common then the "ANB" entitled release. It may have been back in the day but today you just hardly see any of the two up for sale. IMHO there ain`t no big difference pricewise nowadays. In fact I just spoke to a big collector in the US (!) last week who asked me for that 45 and knowing the difference was still happy to pay THAT sum for the believed more common one out of the two. Another friend of mine in the US is also still looking for a copy, no matter which title Fact on the side the "rarer" one was once sold by JM at 250 UKP about three years ago or so. Marc
  2. Would love to hear it...
  3. You do not mean the dark blue 12" ?
  4. Well your right, but I was on about the 7" releases from the early stage.
  5. Hi mate, to serve your interest, here you asked for comments... Marc
  6. OOps, and all of a sudden as if by magic hand
  7. ...and guess what the flipside "I Love My father" is as equally good and brought nearly tears to my eyes when I first heard it. Got both Smallwood 45s and I think I tend to prefer this to "ILT" Marc
  8. Good call Sir, in fact any call from you is good
  9. Thats teh one...although it got some bids in the end
  10. Would have surprised me if you would.. different strokes and all that
  11. Pop tunes with zero Soul content that do nth for me at all although I can imagine in ´74 there may have been some demand for titles like these. IMHO only of course. Marc
  12. If it hasn`t finished already there´s one on ebay (no bids last time I looked)
  13. maybe when "we" invaded the ze dancefloor
  14. On ebay every month at least...in fact I think there is one on right now without a single bid..
  15. James, in the meantime treat yourself to Willie Hamilton "Nobody But Me"....even "punchier" and as Mel would put it "and then some"... https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/searchartist....LTER&Format= (sadly only the b-side) You should be able to get one 10 times cheaper than your offer for Mr. Johnson. The type of sound we LOVED to swing our hips to in Berlin 15 years ago... ...and are beginning to rediscover
  16. Well, then it must be exatly the tpe of "Northern" you always tended to like, right
  17. One of my very first 45s found here in Berlin in an old second hand record shop...back in 84/85. Foolishly sold it around 2000 to Austria and luckily got it back two years or so ago. Won`t do the same mistake ever again, one of the best doublesiders IMVHO. Marc
  18. next bunch ending in a few hours time...
  19. Better than the Fab Denos version but not necessarily better then Herman Hitson`s version on Minit...blew me away first time I heard it
  20. If you can get 250 UKP for the Four Gents "take the money and run" would be my advise as it hardly ever reaches that amount when offered on ebay which is quite often to be honest. Still a damned great record, please don`t get me wrong. Ambassadors...truly another great and indeed rare record. 300 for a minter shhould be about right. Traded a us grading vg+ / uk ex+ copy years ago with a known dealer for 250 UKP (still got my own copy though and wouldn`t let it go for the money in the world). Interesting story on the side is that the leadsinger himself wrote the title about one young girl (groupie we would call it nowadays) who always attended all concerts of the Ambassadors in the Sixties. Finally they ended up married and are still happy with one another, think Linda is her name. Story comes from the leadsinger himself
  21. Yes, as it is more punchier...Dan, what studio hints are given on the acetate ? Marc
  22. Have a look here, still many (well, nearly all) bargains to snipe away... https://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZresist34QQhtZ-1
