  1. Sorry mate, I was abel to buy only one copy at that price Marc NB t`was about three years ago only...
  2. I hope not the superlatives LOL In my book: ST on Gloreco (more desirable IMHO) 500 Volumes 250 + Superlatives 10
  3. Ouch, so I missed a real "bargain", no wonder it has been sold
  4. No, didn`t notice that, when and where was that ? I am referring to this records 1 2 3 in auction ends august 30th 7 pm No Label Artist Title Comment Grade Price 1 ***Dore** Rita & Tiaras Gone with the wind BID VG++ £1,000 2 ***Sable** Lee Mckinney& Magnetics I'll keep holding on BID M £2,500 3 ***Sound city** George Hobson Let it be real BID VG++ £1,000 ...list # 99
  5. Quality Soul as they say
  6. Fantastic S oul record. Shifty had one on his last lists at 1000 and sold it, the one the website you are on about is 1500 and not sold, so at a guess this record is worth between 1.000 and 1.500 UKP
  7. One of my fave male artists, I also have him on Colpix, Bo-Ad (obviously his own label), Tra-X of course. I am sure more labels but can`t remember from the top of my head right now. He used to work as a security / bodyguard eighties and nineties, don`t know if still active though. Among his clients used to be the major from LA at one point if again I remember correctly. And yes, Betty Lou was his wife in the later days. I tried to contact him when he was with Lionel Richie as the chief of his bodyguards over here in Berlin but sadly couldn`t get thru...would have been nice to chat with this man I am sure...
  8. It`s a bit outplayed over here in Germany, that`s for sure. My mate Franz started playing this some years ago now. 250 UKP I think shouold be a right price.
  9. A 45 is always so much worth the buyer is willing to pay...so THIS copy seems to have been worth 600 UKP...to me for sure not. 250 UKP record with the right label design (fottball players). I don`t know how you lot feel about it but I somehow get the ffeeling after a period of quiteness prices on certainitems are again on the way up. Is it only me ? Marc
  10. Hi Rod, take a look at his other items for sale..
  11. Too good to be true kind of price if you ask me. Strange thing is that the high bidder is a well known and respected seller (from the same Michigan area as well!) so I really can`t believe she is not paying for her win. So four (!) options, one the high bidder is the same real person as the seller and this high bid was only some kind of "reserve" (to safe the fees for that) and she now decided to sell at that price (your high bid), two the high bidder does not intend to pay (very unlikely) and is a different person as the seller, three the seller has indeed multiple copies (very very much unlikely), four its a fraud Your best bet would be to get in contact with motorcitymusic(@aol.com if I remember correctly) to ask about the situation before you do any mistakes Marc
  12. The Del Royales for me
  13. Both hard, couldn`t say which is harder..Underwood I think is more indemand. GD around 250 - 500 UKP (depending where and who etc) Carl Underwood posssibly 600 to 800 UKP. Marc
  14. Maybe Ted refers to the copies that went on ebay between 200 and 300 USD in the past. If thats the case one still has to bear in mind that those did not carry a soundfile (as did the one JM had). So maybe this fact was responsible for getting more people interested in this recent auction as they didn`t knew the tune before
  15. which equals about 1250 but sure not 2500 UKP ? Marc
  16. Has been really big about eight / seven years ago due to hevy rotation via Alan Handscombe at the Dome. It used to fetch up to a 800 UKP. I still have my copy and used to played it along Garlon Davis on Kick Off which shares the same backing track. Marc
  17. Horror news Hope he´s "fine" and soon back to normal....just had an email communication with him last night, obviuosly hrs bbefore the fire took place..
  18. I played them out, nearly seventeen years ago now. Firm spins of the Hip City in its early days...still love them today ! Marc
  19. I like it just because of that plus the fact its a real great group doublesider...flipside is an awesome deep tune. However you can`t argue about taste, can you Thanks god my copy was a little bit cheaper though when I bought it several years ago
  20. Your welcome mate !
  21. Richie, you have heard and liked that tune when I played it while you were over at the Hip City mate...which made me wonder as it was/is strongly missing the so much loved disco beat
  22. Less than 200 UKP as it was on ebay twice lately as buy it now at 395,- USD and found no customer. Marc
  23. Yes, Mr Recordshack from Vienna. Very sad he went down the bootlegger`s road already some years ago with his "D. Truelove". When I asked him back then why on earth he brings out bootleggs he told me " When I pay 1000 UKP for a record I have the right to do so and getting some cash flow back" Well, in that case and by using that strange philosophy a lot of us could bring out bootleggs... Not being a big fan of said tune and never could understand why someone would pay over a grand for it (especially when the instrumental is so much better IMO and easy to get at only 15 USD!) I feel sorry for all who have this tune as an essential part in their sets. Way too early to get re-rel. let alone being bottlegged... Marc
  24. After having been after this tune for more years than I cared to count I (like so often..) found a copy of both at the same time. As I found myself being not so keen on these after 15 years of search I sold them both to a prof. record dealer. Marc
