  1. BUT...Johnny Dollar not that unknown/rare is it ?
  2. u sure ? everyday people much much rarer ... (and no, I do love my Trey J`s before anyone gets started ...)
  3. https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/searchartist....+JOE&Format= here you go Steve
  4. Bet he could have sold twenty copies of it at that price ! Strange how this copy then ended here in Berlin. Its not on the Dome tapes I have though. Marc
  5. Remember when I first played that at an event outside Berlin in 2000 and nearly cleared the floor with it
  6. Cool Floyd, at least we do now know that the other test pressing did not dissappear but seems to still reside in Canada or Todmorden yes, bell sound stamped and handwritten details on the label. There`s a scan of my copy on JM`s Rarest of The Rare with a small soundclip, if that helps you ?
  7. Hi Mike, as far as I know only one labeled copy which is the one Val has got and two test presses out of which one seems to have "dissappered". The other one is the one I have got. Both were once found by Steve Smith. Sorry but I can not do soundfiles or real audio mate, Marc
  8. Only two known copies as far as I know, one with me the other with Val Shively... Marc
  9. good` morning mate, don`t do it...as much as I would love to be the only continentl DJ with a copy I ask you to hold on to yours and don`t make a mistake you will regret one day. Fabulous 45 ! Marc
  10. Dear Matt, I said "...like a version of"...however, people hear and describe dfferently so much I have learnt over the years. Most important is you have the 45 anyway.
  11. 200 to 250 UKP. Don`t think this is less rare than the "Ain`t No Bragg" entitled copies. Furthermore its highly indemand and as you rightly say very seldomly up for sale anywhere. Marc
  12. He has a container full of records from buying out an old Michigan record store. After the first boxes where opened he had already found 15 mint copies (as by 21st of February). If and how many he has found since then or will find in the rest of the boxes is not known to me. And yes, he was a bit all over the place with how many copies he was offering at which price to whom I believe he is trying now to shift thru as much different sources as possible (understandable). Good luck. If he doesn`t turn up as man copies as have been by Clara Hardy I doubt the reputation and value of this 45 will suffer from this find in a big way (for long). A clever collector however should sit back now for now and watch before rushing to buy. For the moment I wouldn`t pay more than 700 USD for a minter any way. Flipside indeed is a great tune. Marc
  13. Not at all Matt, it is more like a fast version of Sam Cooke`s "Wonderfuld World" done in a Buster & James or Don & Ron (to get back that Louisiana feel ) type. I had this over fifteen odd years ago c/up and named the tune when we did the label back on raresoulforum.co.uk several years ago. It is missing in the other than that fantastic USA discography that was published once in Shades Of Soul. I truly believe this record is one of the harder releases on USA. I had several (well, two...) IDOLS and Dorothy Berries on USA but still only ever found one of these. Marc
  14. Just goes to show that there still must be Soulies out there in "Real World" who are not on Soul Source Marc
  15. New young folks into the music/digging the music at allnighters/soulclubs ? Yes, definitely. But for a deep and long journey or just "for the joy of the moment" ? Sadly though but for several reasons I have to believe the latter is right. But still fine with me although I would prefer it the other way round much more obviously. By the way, its (again) Keb Darge dancing in this video...shown sadly though only from the back Marc
  16. great semi-known underrated tune on chart sound (if I remember right), green label. Used to be a ten UKP record, not that I have seen it much last years. Marc
  17. Yes please Adam
  18. Hey, that would be nice, yes please ! Marc
  19. For a long time this was in my book one of the moest expensive bootlegs that ever went thru ebay as it once went for the unbelievable sum of 260 UKP on ebay several years ago
  20. I NEED THAT SLEEVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. So you are from Berlin or were just stoping by at Downtwon`s Record shop on a holiday trip to this beautiful town ? Marc
  22. I sold my last copy of Ann Cole (along her other stuff on Baton, all highly recommended if R&B is your target) for 20 USD in us VG++. Gene Chandler and Dobie Gray are obtainable at 10 USD each. Marc
