  1. That just might explain the difference. Its a semi-known tune I would say but far from being unknown. It did used to get hammered at that venue in London (sorry, name escapes me at present) late 90s early 2k`s that Andy Rix used to deejay at. I think you will find it is quite common in Scandinavia these days...at least I get asked to play whenever I am there. Seb, 194 USD is a VERY GOOD price. Marc
  2. Had two, sold one. Paid 500 and 250 UKP, so at a guess 375 UKP ?
  3. Sure you have Dave, one certain one by one Herman or Hermon spontaneously springs to my mind as one hell of an acetate The acetate here "in question" seems to have had some serious contact with water, whcih explains the loss in ink, the loss in shiny gloss and the "waves" on the label sticker. So both, the faded ink and the missing gloss are (at least to me) no indications for an unauthencity of this acetate.
  4. To my knowledge they made this one single and one LP (which includes the 45 "man"). Marc
  5. to be honest I was amazed to see so many fairly common items being up for bids on his site in general AND second achieving such high end prices. Don`t know on the starting prices though as I do not look there regulary I can not comment on them, so you may be right on that. Marc
  6. Only two weeks to go for this event, anyone off this site attending ? Heard the venue is in a hotel situated directly at and with view to the seaside..wow. Marc
  7. Only a bump, as well for another nice and interesting forum as for this named thread we once had on there as it revealed some more interesting infos.
  8. Yes, Augustine Twins just like I once pointed out on a thread about "artists in disguise" we had on the other soul forum... Marc
  9. Think you will find that they still do pop up on ebay every now and then
  10. Well, than you are better off than me Keith, I am still waiting for an answer since three weeks. Not the only person though who posts "wants" and then does not even care to answer a pm. I am nearly coming to the conclusion its an useless effort to answer "wants" threads.
  11. I think many people just got notice of how good sides of this beautiful 45 are after and because it had been reissued late last year. So it may be them who push the bids up without having done their homework before, wouldn´t be the first time...
  12. 800 UKP for a mint one. Very rare and highly indemand. Marc
  13. THESE ARE ENDING IN 23 hrs. PLUS I HAVE ADDED SOME 40 NEW 6ts SALES INCL. GALLAHADS, FLUFFY FALANA AND MANY MORE..
  14. That`s sadly the point, most of them artists we love did earn nth at all or did not earn enough to put some aside. I mean, even JJ Barnes is working as a night guard at a Detroit newspaper these days. Surely if he would have had enough earnings from his musical career he would not need to spend his nights at this job in this day and age. And friends...well, once a person is dead the number of so called friends can rapidly shrink...especially in the music/show business. More than one example of that in the past. Having said that I can see and understand the (well meant) intention of your initial posting and don`t want to let this topic change into a "who is for and who is against it" controverse as it would simply do neither OV Wright nor this topic any justice. Marc
  15. Fantastic 45 indeed, one I haven`t heard for a long time. Got a mint one, don`t know a value, pm me. Marc
  16. Another good cause for sure, as well as at least ten others I can think of at once.
  17. Your kidding` me ? ´course I am in mate Bloody fantatsic news that is. Marc
  18. Just bumping this one up one more time
  19. You have to differentiate between the two releases of Gino Parks. The first striped one is damned hard to get...not too expensive (around 50 UKP) but really hard especially in good nick. The secod release with the Tamla globes design is not as hard but still seldomly seen. Sellls easily at about 25 UKP. If Martin Rank did not buy my last copy I may be able to help you with this. Johnnie Mae Matthews...this tune (which I loved to spin some years ago before "Dr. Truelove" by the way) on her own label is one of her most underrated tunes IMHO...rare and even rarer in good nick as most are sadly only vg plus. The one you saw on ebay was a steal and as much as I hate it to say I very much doubt you will find a cheaper copy. If I would be selling mine (which I am obviously not) it would be 75 UKP
  20. MOSTLY MODERN SOUL AND BIT OF FUNK https://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZresist34Q...2QQfsooZ2QQrdZ0 Thanks for looking !

  22. Sorry folks, just realized, typo in the price: 125 UKP
