  1. that is the exact reason. although after 25 years of rare Soul in Germany the "nostalgia" thing is also starting here and there.. Marc
  2. there were "recekty" two beaten up copies on ebay. the first went for sth like that in vg, the other one (cracked9 was cancelled. Can`t remember having seen a minter for sale in the last say 5 years. God knows what that would go for....hopefully not 800 as I wouldn`t mind a mint copy myself. Knwo where there is one in Berlin though
  3. Unbelievable, he really had them (out of stock now) so Pikeys dog really seems to got hold of real bargain. Seldomly that Mr. Moere makes such a mistake. Demo only I suppose. A dead rare 45. When for sale goes for 250 UKP plus... Marc
  4. The signed ones are the second releases, repros, bootlegs, legal new releases...oh we better don`t get into this again .
  5. Both parts of your post I can only answer with: yes and the secret is in the provided sound files...if a person doesn`t know the song a soundtrack will not only create his/her interest it will also help to get the bids high...seen this all before, haven `t we. See start of this thread, the tune was "unknown" but provided with a soundfile "will this be the next big thing ?" was the question born out of the fact it was "unknwon" and the soundfile (at least to the person who started this thread) sounded good enough to ask this particular question. There will always be people who once bought it before way cheaper as well as there will always be people who will say "this is crap, the worst 45 I have ever heard bla bla bla etc." Same was with the Parliaments "This Is My Rainy Day" first copies really cheap and later some said "Ah, can`t understand all the fuzz, ain`t really such a great tune" Each to their own. I for myself like it big style Marc
  6. Hi Chalky, the 1500 UKP was a private sale just recently and another private sale for even more you know who you have to ask to get full details And yes, it filled the floor, Lifeline, Germany, also in Sweden and Spain Marc
  7. PM`ed you back fella! Marc
  8. Roscoe Gordon on the current 145heaven list ( and on ebay quite regulary)...got mint minus Ernestine eady on Scepter for you if you want, pm me. Marc
  9. last one went for over a 1500 UKP And in fact sounds fantastic at home as well as at an allnighter
  10. I guess nothing as it already tells you more then enough as most people in Germany as in and the rest of the Continent seem to have more taste and are much more open minded as the majority of people attending allnighters in England. One of the reasons people like Arthur Fenn, Dave Thorley and Butch to name just only three enjoy deejaying over here so much you joker.
  11. Nth unusual as the second last Ghetto Boys on ebay had no bids at all and the last copy went a week ago for only just 334 USD... Ebay seems to have still a potential to grow...still a lot cllectors seem to be not aware of it ?
  12. Well, I have been playing this since six months now and it never ever (!) cleared the floor. It even filled it (Bamberg Weekender in May this year). Its definitely not a garage record as the b-side is a very nice midtempo group record. This record also features a very nice horn break. A "great" new 45. Each to their own, but it definitely is a very nice new record for anyone who wants to play a new black Soul 45 in his set from time to time. I won`t tell you now who was this "top" UK DJ who paid top banana, but I can tell you that at the moment more then one DJ in the UK are behind this 45. Marc
  13. I remember "someone" telling me a "handful" of people reserved and ordered the whole stock beforehand. And now (from the start on to be precise) no copies were and will be available unless you have "access" to this group of people (but rest assured in a few weeks time the first will crop up on ebay making 275.73 USD, after that it will cool down to say 66 USD... Same situation when a small amount of a so-called rarity turns up...the same old handful of people get them offered... For gods sake THIS WAS INTENDED TO BE A NEW RELEASE. Some times the way this scene is intended by some to work really sucks. Good record. Bad practise. Marc
  14. To state it once again clearly: This copy I have is vinyl- and sleeve wise in better condition as the one first for sale here by docfish. Still the price is the same as when docfish reduced from 100 UKP to 75 UKP Some did not understand M rc
  15. Think you are right Benji, he used to always have a bout three 25 count boxes or so with him in his rucksack, maybe less maybe more.
  16. You are not saying that Butch with his "ryanair" box is disrespecting the punters are you ? Seriously though it depends very much on the discs you take with you I would say. In my case you can rest assured nobody ever had to or in fact did complain when I was at the Hideaway mate Marc
  17. Have another Wilson Pickett "Baby Don`t You Weep" German Liberty for sale, same price. Picture Sleeve and vinyl ex+ pm me please if interested
  18. Whenever I am invited to do the Hideaway in Manchester I always only bring about 25 45`s with me...knowing I only have two 30 min spots....and I am far from being arrogant (I hope ). After my the first three years Paul Welsby asked me wether I was not afraid to have not enough records with me in case someone already played stuff I was plannig to play. I had to answer it had never happened before so I was quite confident it wont happened now Marc
  19. true, Butch always travels abroad like that....not in two weeks time for our 18th anniversary though where he will be bringing an extra box with some of his acetates with him...yummy yummy...
  20. "All Because Of You"...brill record that I have included in my spots here an there since maybe three years again by now. Always raises some eye browes when played Marc
  21. Hi James, think we had exactly this before...however, Butch by no means is a Hot Box DJ. In fact he even dislikes the term. To start with he is not even selling a piece (out of a so called hot box) if he hasn`t got a second copy... Butch is a leading and fabulous DJ becuase he has a box to deejay with that brings out new goodies that the so called hot box DJ`s after hearing (and watching the dance floor reaction) are hunting and trying to obtain. He is using the pace he is using to change his playlist very sensitive in respect to give each record the time it needs and to present a new reccord when the time is right for it, beside that I say thanks god he is not rotating his playlist faster, I could name you at least three DJ`s at once that would loose control of their sense of balance (and maybe wallet) if he would rotate as fast as he could However, his goodies most of the time come straight out of his huge collection at home. Not by selling/trading an outplayed item out of his dj box to finance the next (auction) biggie Marc
