  1. A hand shake is a hand shake is a hand shake is a done deal. the way I understand Pete the record collection wasn`t up for highest offer, it was up fo a straight deal. So after the deal had been done with the buyer (Pete) there shouldn`t have been any missunderstandings that is impossible for a third party to come in. It would be the same if you sell a record be it auction or set sale and after the deal has been done the seller tells you a day later "oh hang on, there is somebody just come in offering me x more". No way. IMO only of course. but as you say Soul Unltd. may not be the one to blame as they probably didn`t know. In dubio pro reo. Marc
  2. Its on the multi-coloured later Sue releases and around 20 UKP, the Awake should be around 50ish ? Marc
  3. Its a great and dead rare record so much is for sure. The only spare I had I sold to a well known collector in NYC...and he had never ever seen this NYC recording before.... Marc
  4. which is the same title, tune and group as The International KCP`s on Rojac...only that the Rojac is slightly cheaper. This connection may as well explain how the song was also done by Big Maybelle on Rojac. Marc
  5. But I have been buying English Cheddar Cheese today, doesn`t that qualify ... ´nuff of that now
  6. Can`t believe you just said that as most of the stuff that gets played these days as so called "R&B" sounds a hundred times more like Huey Lewis anyway, your record is packed and will leave tmorrow .....without cheese
  7. What a great Soul tune indeed, this Johnny Carter still got the voice ! Thanks for sharing, I`ll get me a copy ! Marc
  8. Can you (or someone else of course) post a file please, would love to hear that. Marc
  9. This was released as a white label alongside the unrel. Supremes, Gladys Knight and Marvelettes tunes ("Too Late for You" etc) in the late eighties, wasn`t it ? At least thats when I got them...
  10. Simon, exactly what I say...I don`t see a problem neither ´cause by doing so you as well create an exclusive/individual set in the true sense of the word. ie Barabara St.Clair: When Butch played this 45 in Bamberg earlier this year it was enough for me to stop me on both nights from playing it hrs after him. Marc
  11. Where did I intend to say so ? Still I believe everybody should try to play as exclusive or better say individual as possible. Otherwise no need in packing a box, be it hot or not.
  12. Because so far I have never played a new release at a Rare Soul event and don`t see myself ever doing so (only exception being Tyrrel Cooperation in 1991). Furthermore I don`t see the use in playing it if everybody can or actually is playing it. Same reason why I dropped Joe Jama and New World long time ago already. Don`t get me wrong, I stick to my words in that everybody can play what they like IMO but it does make it less attractive for me to play it then if it gets played everywhere. Still I have enjoyed tapping to the rhythm the few moments I have heard Nicole WIllis out at venues for example. But again I wouldn`t have played it. Marc
  13. Heres my answer to your question from the July 1st: Jul 1 08, 11:08 PM "....but rest assured in a few weeks time the first will crop up on ebay making 275.73 USD, after that it will cool down to say 66 USD... " You did not have to be a prophet to foresee this happening with all the buzz around the record. IMHO who ever wants to play the record should do so, who prefers to play other stuff should so as well. Every punter himself can and will judge for himself (as always with his /her feet on the floor). Why someone should be allowed to be the only one playing it only because he was the first to receive it is way beyond me though. The tune was discussed about half a year ago already widely and intensively on another forum, it was up on myspace...so hundreds of people at least did know about this tune already before. Its a great tune for what it is, a retro sounding funky soulful Dance record. And I am thankful for people putting down the effort to record and release stuff like this, just like I am thankful for the Daptone output and equal stuff. Makes life much more colourful if you know what I mean. Says me who definitely won`t be playing it out at a NS event. Marc
  14. can`t sell/ swap it mate, sorry. But wasn`t there one on here recently up for grabs or was it another wants thread ?
  15. I paid 175 UKP for an Ex copy maybe three years ago if that is of any help to you. Marc
  16. only four days left https://shop.ebay.com/merchant/resist34
  17. Yes, absolutely the same look and feel except for the bigger hole of course. But how come then Dolly Gimore and Sammy Gaha do command such a high price tag then if the origin is dubious ? Or was Dave Godin "only" on about the deisgn and name of teh Candian based label to be a rip off of his UK label ? Marc
  18. As i am also not capable of doing a file from my own copy, JM has a soundfile to listen to here https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/searchartist....ist=FOUR+TRACKS Marc
  19. Sorry Mal, sadly not. Amazing little 45 this Leon Thomas 45 is. Everybody I was in contact with about this sales thread said to me Leon Thomas ain`t worth so an so much. But Judging by how many people pm`ed me since then this record in fact should be worth much more if the good old market rule supply and demand are still something to judge from Hope you find one soon and cheap Mal Marc
  20. Interesting, whats the story behind the Canadian based Righ On label then that had Dolly Gilmore for example ? Subsidary of the Godin owned UK label ? Marc
  21. Oops, pardon me
