  1. it may have gone lost in the mail ? call Tim, I am sure he will make up for it. atbv
  2. I couldnt believe my eyes at fist when I saw the first copies being advertised around 100 - 150 gbp really. I remember I paid around 15 gp for my first copy and around 25 for my second one... 450 ? a bad joke!
  3. not true pete..every subscriber received a free cd "rare Soul review" which included some ecclectic and tasty choices...some heard salt & pepper "man of my words" for teh very first time thru this CD (incl. me). Tim wouldnt ever have just collected the subs without either fulfiling the subs or deliver some sort of compensation.
  4. Frank Wilson has been knocked off its perch a long time. Both of the two Mello Souls that are now in the US and that came from UK sellers were sold for way way more than Frank Wilson. Crazy I know...
  5. :o ... rip
  6. A can of worms...at least it used to be whenever that question came up... The PG definitely is a later press, most believe it is a bootleg. All owners of a PG press obviously think different ;)
  7. awesome double-sider that I had to joy to spin in 2006 at the 100 club, who would have thought so... terrific DEEP flipside... https://soundcloud.com/hip-city-soul-club/charles-mr-cc-carlson-i-dont
  8. sorry to burst your bubbles guys , but this was released on Stone records (and a big spin at the Hip City Soul Club a few years ago..) https://www.popsike.com/Otis-Redding-bootleg-single-you-Left-the-Water-Running/320754945868.html
  9. now, what a sad big loss that is !
  10. dean anderson is after several guest dj spots ver the years by now almost a resident guest dj at the Hip City and I agree: he is one of the best and a great person! We are very happy and honoured to have him back again this year for our 23rd anniversary weekender july 19th + 20th...the guest dj line up also includes butch, kitch, lazy and lars bulnheim.
  11. never too late to update... equasions gone, willie & the mighty magnificents and lee moses sold too so no more pm`s please, thanks.
  12. you should try to peel off the labl stickers if you wanna know for sure wether your acetate(s) is/are kosher or not.. mr radcliffe jr. used to stick on laser printed labels on top of the original stickers on his "newer" acetates. think we covered this whole subject already twice since fryer brought the subject up for the first time some years ago. I bought a 7" "helpless" which was kosher, looked, played and even smelled correct btw. but bought also other stuff off him, out of which one wasnt sober. cant think of its title at the moment though.
  13. As much as nobody has the right to touch anyone elses (copy-)rights..for example in selling or playing bootlegs. Sidenote: Beside having lost some serious weight over the last year I still doubt anyone would be able to actually "throw" me (oranyone else) across the hall. Asking me to leave that sanother question and a wish I only to likely would fullfill in teh given scenario...
  14. to answer the initial question, no they dont. some others also dont. but over here in Germany that doesnt help avoiding customs in general anymore as they tend to handpick items despite their low declared value...explanation once given to me by customs "we dont know if that declaration is correct therefore we take the right to test". customs over here have become more and more a problem when you collect. one could say it grew congruent with the growth of the euro crisis...well, the German state has a ever growing thirst for fresh money influx to help bail out our fellow euro crisis countries.. this customs problem plus the recent price hike in the us postage rates. now this bloody global shipping programm. plus those "more money then sense ebay high bidders" makes one indeed loose interest in buying statewise.
  15. sorry richard, dont have a scan. not being able to call a copy my own I have to rely on my memory which may be playing tricks on me...wouldnt be the first and sure wont be the last time ;)
  16. "so would you be happy..?" no, dont think so. in fact I believe I would take that bloody piece of s**T off the turntable and either throw it across the hall or break it into two parts. once closed my box and walked out the venue I was booked to deejay at when I realised one of the organizers was playing boots. but back then that was me being patient, understandng and young. nowdays I tend to just loose my temper.
  17. best line of last week was when a mate told me about all those new places in this city (Berlin) that play Soul...most I didnt even know about LOL..anyway, while he was naming them all one by one (think we counted about ten) he mentioned .."Oh no, right, these guys have just stopped and sold their records"..I asked him "really? why?" his reply came "they sold up because they said its no use to deejay anymore as everybody else is playing the same bootlegs as they are!"...PMSL LOL !!!!!
  18. I only ever saw blue issues of it, no red ones ?
  19. No, the pic sleeve release that was done around a few years ago is "I`ll Come Running Back"... unless there is also another rel that does feature unrel. stuff by Charles Mintz ?
  20. Yes, I found out about that some six maybe seven years ago, posted it on here and Dave Thorley then got confirmation of that theory from Charles Mintz himself that he was "hiding" behind teh name of "Tommy Star"..
  21. As always you seem to have done some nice and clever detective work my friend ;) you won this recent copy ?
  22. LOL ... still it did play fine on my old player. But as I said , the intro is terrible anyway.
  23. cheers arthur, and yes, think you got a point there mate ;)
