  1. So this has finally also been bootlegged. "Great" .
  2. Know what you mean Darren, but its not always like that is it ? Once sold the less rarer Sonny Fisher / Outasite and recently bought "back" the rarer version... still I must admit to like the less rarer one more
  3. Wow, never seen one. Guess it will once have had a picture sleeve. In comparison to the Metros/Since I Found A Bay on German - which I have seen three in 25 years - I think this is much rarer. 100 UKP at least ? Marc
  4. When I did put it on my wants list I didn`t even knew how much it would be...and that was three years before it was played out...Explanations were on the same CD and went on my wants list...50 UKP record. I am looking for one certain 45 very much in the same vein as S&P at the moment...nowhere to be found yet, a mate found one for 30 USD. Marc
  5. Come on Pete, with all respect it may not be what you consider Northern Soul but it is still a f*** great Soul tune. And its "fresh". If I wouldn`t have been too tight to spend another 3 grand I wouldn`t have cancelled my snipe on that beauty, so much for sure. I have been after a copy ever since 2005 when said Rare Soul Review CD got me on the hunt for one. The night I wanted to ask Butch if he knew it and had a spare (not having seen the one ebay that month) he played it for the very first time down at the 100 CLUB... I knew it will be too late from now on as some very very imaginative DJ`s as always will sell their home or mother to secure the next copies coming up just to follow bUTCHS`footsteps just once more. And I guess thats just what happened last night on ebay
  6. ...which has such a fantastic Deep flipside
  7. We had a thread covering Jimmy Delphs before...a member on here let out the secret that they seem to have found as many copies of "Dancing" as have been found of Clara Hardy/Tuna. So my advise is to sit back and wait till the price drops even more. If its true what they say then the Esquires version will be the one thats harder and rarer. It was the better version anyway IMO. Marc
  8. wasn`t it the same record being autioned twice after the first auction had been cancelled ? Either way, there have been several in the last say six months on ebay anyway. none in mint minus or better conmdition though. Its hard to come by in good nick. Marc
  9. Totally agree. Its the better out of the two 45s. Marc
  10. Don`t know if its still there but there was a seller on ebay who had 'I Won't Be Your Fool' for months at buy it now without any takers. Marc
  11. That would be great ! I`ll bring that Prince Paul then (..only for your listening pleasure ) Marc
  12. A mint (minus) to excellent plus used to set you back 800 to 1200 UKP. These days you may be lucky to get one for less but having seen a VG+just going thru Manship`s tonight at 750 UKP I somehow doubt it....
  13. Hi Malc, thats true but those allegations came from Huey P. Meaux who himself is not...shall we say...the most trustworthy person on this planet involved with the music industry. Don Robey who was "famous" for being a very light coloured Black American (think his mother was white) -and as such one of the few Black people who had their own record business- had connections with and worked also for the people involved with the nightlife bars and especially red light business in Texas. He was also quite interested in gambling and ended up owing serious money to people one shouldn´t owe money to...so it has also been rumoured and stated that the reason for him to sell his stable of labels to ABC was to very very quickly raise as much money as he could in favour to pay for his debts... Marc
  14. God, I really have a soft spot for Doris Smallwood Second that emotion
  15. Thanks Val ! Fantastic. And you are right, apparently very much different. Still I must say I like the Right On version more...but then again I am a lost "Disco Kid" anyway
  16. can you post a soundfile of each to compare (not doubting your statement, just want to compare in full lenght) ? To me they do sound (judging from the short soundfile on JM`s) very similar.. Marc
  17. Hi Paul, "Sweet" is the same tune as on Dove...flipside on the Right On release is a different (and better IMHO) tune though. Still nobody could enlighten me about the connection between these two or the history of the Canadian Righ On 45...its not even in Manhips guide ... ...by the way, I have this 45 on hold since October...didn`t think there could be another collector taking as long as I do from time to time...
  18. Thanks Sean and Tommaso
  19. I see JM has this on auction now...on Dove Records...same tune
  20. Ah, just saw they started with a grand..3100 was the last "offer"..so the "Joker" was me Marc
  21. Man, how I love these intelligent ebay "thiefs"....sellers already been asked to pull it for as much as 3000 and 3100 USD and in comes a new joker offering him 1000 USD .."yeah sure, we can do that.." Its amazing, isn`t it..bearing in mind the last one (the one Butch won a couple of months ago) only went for 1800 USD sth. Marc
  22. Fantastic idea Andy, so don`t waste anymore time and I answer my pm(s) mate
  23. Thats the one for me as well! Marc
  24. What you say about the UKP to the USD makes sense, can`t comment on Liberation on UK lists as I never really looked out for it really, so you may be right here as well
  25. I remember being informed that most bids do come in late via email and phone...and because of that most 45s do sell not for the starting bid. But I agree, it would be much much better if the bids would be put up to date more frequently. Craig Moerer was selling the Liberation 45 for 1000 USD and has recently decreased down to 800 USD.
