  1. wow...is this not the very same tune that Pete S was selling along other unrel. tunes last here on ss ? If so, its not a one off and about a handful of copies around ? if so yes then this surely is a quite dear price ? Marc
  2. No, they were pressed in Germany for the German public to enjoy and buy. The members of the forces had their own shops were they bought their own US produced stuff (was much cheaper compared to be buying in German stores). German Atlantic did release an awful lot of stuff. Sadly theres no discography for it, also not for German Decca, London and CBS and a lot of others...I bet there are still treasuries waiting to be discovered. The rarest German releases (all with pic covers) so far in my book are Lollipops Marvin Gaye (sings in German) Four Tops (sing in German) Melvin London TSU Toronados ..from the top of my head and of to be added and corrected ;-) Wilson Pickett "Baby Don`t You Weep" and Metros "Since I Found My Baby" are also dear but not as rare as the above Marc
  3. Blimey...you never stop learning new things! In all my 25 years of collecting here in Berlin I have NEVER EVER seen this release. Its unbelievable to see what has been released here. Just a few months ago a fellow Soul Source posted the scan of a german rel. of the Lollipops "Love Is the Only Answer" and now oyu come with your TSU Toronados! fantastic. Marc
  4. Yes, definitely one hell of a great tune!
  5. As with these acetates you can never be sure wether there is not already a small area where the vinyl has lost its contact with the metal I would never ever wash any acetate...the risk that some water gets between the vinyl and the metal is just too big to take IMHO. Once the the process of the vinyl loosing contact with the metal has started there is nth to stop it..
  6. Think that this is exactly all what Pikeys Dog was trying to express with his review, a different taste on certain tunes (only by the way..). But from the essence of what you just said I understand your point of view seems to be in reality quite similar to mine. Marc
  7. Anorther one that used to come via John Powney...like so many.
  8. Think you can`t really disqualify members (people) by classifying other (member)s as being more broad minded only because they cherish certain tunes more or even regard them as classics whereas others do not. IMO Marc
  9. Not THAAAAT many copies around, are there ? Anyway, people should play the flipside more often anyway ;-) Marc
  10. Cheers Ted, yes Carl and Gary got even their business name (Out-A-Site) from this tune. So with your "confirmation" we can safeley say that the Kodell version is (slightly?) rarer, thanks everybody for clearing this up. Marc
  11. Hi Chalky, got both versions at home but sadly no scanner..will try to get them for you scanned though during the week (...and before I have made up my mind which to keep...as times are hard one needs to go LOL!) Marc
  12. Hi Ted, so you say the faster version (Kodell) is rarer then the slower one (Cameo-Parkway) ..?..just wanting to clarify as Chalky had them the other way round with Kodell being the slower version. TIA Marc
  13. The other way around Chalky, the so-called slower version is the Cameo-Parkway Publishing Company one. Kodell is the faster one which towards the end kinda "falls down" iof you know what I mean. Marc
  14. Thanks for that, any opinion on Sonny Fishback ? Marc
  15. Don`t think its except in your case.. Marc
  16. Can any body tell me the value of Falcons feat. Wilson Pickett "Billy The Kid" on a UK London please (not rel. in the US) ? Also I need to know which is the rarer out of the two Sonny Fishback rel. on Outasite. I always had thought the Cameo-Parkway Publ. rel. was the rarer of the two but the guides seem to change from year to year (2003 one being rarer 2005 the other one  ) ? TIA Marc
  17. Watched a documentary on telly last night about california gangs and one called the NLR = Nazi Low Riders...wonder if they are lsitening to the same (good) music. I doubt it somehow as the yhave strong relations with the AB.. marc
  18. Thanks god I am not...not familiar with UK releases hence my question. But looking at Pookie Hudson of course that shoudl have rang the alarm bell. But was too "shocked" to see the Lou Pride on British to look any further.. Marc
  19. Hi Miff, don`get me wrong please...yours looks good. But if the one I am on about is a windows paint work as well they must have done an extremely good job. Having said so on closer inspection I just noticed the label credits Groovesville music which of course would be right for Stax # 130 JJ Barnes but not for a Lou Pride 45...so maybe indeed its a paint job and they forgot to replace Groovesville with Suemi ! Theres always sth..
  20. The day I will have forgotten how to tell a Stax 45, be it US , German or UK will be a very very sad day.. https://roundblackrecords.piczo.com/?cr=2 second 45 from above
  21. I have just seen a scan of Lou Pride "Im Coming Home" on Stax UK # 130 ? Can this be real as Stax 130 is JJ Barnes "Baby Please Come Back Home" ? Never heard about Lou Pride on British Stax ? Confused..
  22. And again your view is very one-sided...so tell me then who has come on to say Marc Forrest has ripped them off too ? Think some people invoveld in this thread do ride on even higher horses... I do what I said I will do. But defo not because you or anybodyelse is saying so but only because I decided to do so. Its still definitely not my duty to do so as it wasn`t my record, I did not sell it, I did not receive the money for it bla bla bla...furthermore I trust my eyes and I trust my friend so I know there are only two explanations, one being that Simon is not able to understand what makes an original copy or -what is more likeley- wanted to exchange a boot for an original the cheap way. Thats my opinion. I will end up paying 50 UKP outa my pocket for a deal two other parties have done between them. And thats all really that was left for me to say now. I would appreciate if you would leave it at that.
  23. Rod, in all honesty but how can you know that all former transactions with Simon where problem-free ? You have been his advocate all the time then ? Furthermore why do you only give this bonus credit to him and not me also ? I guess there must be over a hundered+ transactions I did via Soul Source without ever having a problem. Interesting really. Furthermore there were about 15 people ordering from this list, Simon the only one who was complaining. However and quoting your last sentence, I think you and Simon did your best already to destroy my reputation. Well done guys you can be seriously proud of yourselves. Its a joke really when considering I was only posting this fucking sales thread up for a friend. So my deepest thanks to you guys. And to quote what seems to be Mr. Simon Penfolds most favourite sentence "What Goes Around will come around"..thats for sure. So send me this fucking 45 then and I will refund you Simon, I hope you are satisfied now. Have a drink on my behalf then with your new found fortune of 50 UKP and keep on enjoying the original copy which you will of course be keeping ? I know who I will avoid in upcoming Sales. So much for sure. What a bad joke really. Marc
