  2. Only two test pressings I thought ?
  3. Oxford Knights...some thought and still do until today the find was actually a repress. Four Tracks...paid a heavy sum for mine about a month or two before they were hitting the bay. ouch. Dream Team.... traded against my mint George Blackwell PLUS cash ... doh! Thankfully found another mint George Blackwell soon after. Seem to remember the remaining stock first went to Shifty who was the first to cut down the price to 100 GBP. Still remember the conversation I had with him about it at that time.. Think amongst the biggest contenders for the title of biggest fall from grace have to be the four vandals though ;)
  4. just realized, thats been my ss post # 5001, do I get a upgrade now or buddy ace for free ? sold mine for 15 quid eight years ago so wouldnt mind the Buddy Ace instead of an upgrade LOL
  5. it would be funny, if it wouldnt be so shocking indeed. c-r-a-z-y.

  7. This delicious 4 track 10 Inch acetate is back up for sale again. All unreleased stuff. All 100 % original, and pretty awesome it does sound indeed. Theres only two around, one belongs to Andy Rix, this one here was found stateside some ten years ago and always had its place in my collection since then. EX condition Please pm if seriously interested Eddie Holland "Daydreamer" The 10 Inch acetate does also feature Valadiers "Tell All Your Friends" another fabulous uptempo Motown tune by this group that had such a limited output on Gordy Rec.! Plus two more nice unrel. tunes on it by Chris Clark and Henry Lumpkin all unrel. although I once had a 7 Inch acetate of the Henry Lumpkin track which I sold to John Manship so theres at least two of this around. Not the actual acetate but tune is on youtube Looking for serious offers on this one until sunday 12 am. Please pm me and thanks for looking.

  9. dont know, never counted.
  10. sorry, but as a definite rule completely wrong.
  11. Len Barry, his "1-2-3" was the first Soulsong I listened to outside Motown, also amongst the first 45s I ever found. All his Decca 45s came with nice looking picture sleeves here in Germany. His ex-drummer who can be heared on all his Decca recordings used to live in Berlin. I interviewed him in 1988/89. He was in a soulband over here. Wonder what ever happened to him..
  12. That one wa slisted without SOUL or even Northern Soul in headline = less response, much lesser final price. The flipside (Deep Soul heaven) alone is worth 150 GBP ;)
  13. ..also for a worhwhile read https://funky16corners.com/f16zine/WEB/5_philly_sound.htm https://funky16corners.wordpress.com/2007/10/17/funky16corners-radio-v36-philly-soul-pt2-on-the-northern-side/ and here https://www.funkadelphiarecords.com/PhillyCds.html
  14. scan of the pic sleeve anyone ?
  15. dont think we need two threads on this, do we ?
  16. always wanted one after having heard andy spinning it start of teh 2k`s. Than I was lucky enough to treat myself to a copy as a a xmas pressie 2007 if I remember correctly. Had massive spins from me since than and it was only a few years ago that I did put it back for some relaxiation sleep in its box... fabulous record!
  17. there had been another copy of the pervis herder on ebay a couple of weeks ago. as I personally dont rate it that much I didnt mark it, but its been there for a low price if I remember correct. dont know at what it ended though.. the crow, easily 500 in m- cond I would say. loads of initerest, esp. as has been said from othere scenes and especially via the european continent. much more demand than copies, thats for sure..
  18. you should have rubbed off the label, made they surface look g and written on the sleeve unknown and unreleased r&b belter....price 400 GBP. people migh have cued up for it LOL On a serious note, what really is "frightening"...it wasnt just the buyer, have a look at bid history :o ??!
  19. I bet the "lucky" winner wont like reading this ;) I will never understand why people are willing to invest so much money without having done their homeworks..
  20. brilliant list indeed, only the second time ever I see a mint Four Andantes for sale (first time was when I bought mine off that famous NYC Doo Wop shop..)
  21. funny james, I was just talking to the guy you got it off the other day when the question came up wether you already sold it or not ;) great and rare record, you shouldnt have any problems selling this baby at all!
  22. Harry Finfer started Arlen records in 1962 with a hit record by the Tams ("Untie Me"). Q1 Why would he choose to start a new label only to re-release half its output later on his already established Arlen label ? Q2 If Gina records was to be the first label for Little Herman why did it not also host his first and other release "One Out Of A Hundered" ? Its quite obvious to me that ARLEN is the original first label. Why Harry Finfer started to operate another so short lived label (Gina) in 1964 next to his reasonably succesfull General American and Arlen efforts I dont know, it may have had contract, tax or royalties reasons..
  23. jump on over for the next Hip City in March and I guarantee you WILL hear it played it out loud. On a side note...white CRS demo ...lovely ! you mean our "Rimini" situation...? No, LOL
  24. Last one form me today. Love to play this early doors or late (last spot). I just love the way Carl Holmes aka Sherlock Holmes (of "Standing At A Standstill" ) imitates Marvin Gayes "Whats Going On" towards the end.
  25. Hi Kev, nic one. Me and my fellow resident at the Hip City, Franz, do both have this in our playboxes. Some three releases later. Sounds fantastic played out
