  7. Just played When we get there on Youtube to remind myself what it sounds like. Personally I think it leans on the wrong side of Poppy Northern if you know what I mean. But it certainly has charm and appeal. There are certainly tunes played that are worse and by black artists.
  8. If anyone's after the Buckingham sleeve, feel free to PM me. It's a dutch one the used for the UK 45 and I'm sure I got one filed away (the sleeve that is not the 45!).
  9. Chris, Philly groove is an alternative take. it was advertised as such when it came out.
  10. how much was Donald Albert? thanks.
  11. Bob, Richard: You're pretty much into off-topic country now. Please either move this thread to freebasing or go back on-topic.
  12. How much was the Hit 'em Hard soundtrack?
  13. Updated and a few prices reduced.
  14. Found a John Powney list in the record room the other day. List #74 dates mid 90s I guess Patti & Emblems - Gonna love you a long long time - Kapp W/D M- 20 quid.
  15. Pete, you obviously haven't heard it played at a dance. Her voice is that awful your head explodes if you hear either side twice within 30 minutes. backing is great tho.
  16. Some 60s LP's (usually french or german) have what I call "fake-stereo". these are to be avoided if possible, they sound horrible. Genuine stereo albums are the ones to have for home listening but when playing out loud I prefer mono.
  17. wow, original take? never heard that before. Soundclip anyone anywhere? fully agree. Does anyone know more?
  18. Sebastian, I wasn't specific enough. My theory would make (more) sense if we assume that A3 mix was first: A3 red/white A red/white A m/c
  19. R&W first press sells out. They re-press it on R&W labels and diff. mix, label gets picked up for national distribution around the same time, during re-press the change the label to the national distribution multi-colour one. would that make sense?
  20. Sebastian, could you explain a bit what you mean by that? Seems like both mixes have pro's and con's. Which one is the one to have?
  21. Barry is the Sidra mix, isn't it? Great record though, whatever mix it is.
  22. Funny (but yet not surprising) how tastes differ. Shirley Edwards is among my Shrine favourites together with Epsilons (both sides), JD Bryant - I won't be coming back and Ray Pollard - No more like me (other side is shite IMO)
  23. They've been playing Alex Hassilev at 6T's/Mod dances over here for many years. Ruby & Romantics was HUGE at the Rimini Easter Mod weekender 15 years ago. Haven't heard it for years.
  24. believe it or not, a mate of mine got a copy in a soul pack 20 odd years ago. He didn't like it and offered it to me in about 1995/1996 for 5 Deutschmarks (about 1.50/2.00 quid) but I turned it down, I didn't know it.
