  1. I said there are hardly any quality allnighter tunes below 3 figures any more. And so far I'm not proven wrong in my opinion. Some nice songs posted in this thread but I wouldn't play majority of them at an allnighter.
  2. BIG DADDY RUCKER - JEALOUS MAN - GME - £250 NOW £225 (incl. signed for postage!) Recent funky R&B in demander. Last copy on Discogs went for over £300. Record in lovely EX+ condition. No flaws. Can also send fully insured at no extra cost. Youtube vid for reference (not taken from record!) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Payment Paypal only. Thanks for looking!
  3. Wanna share a few of these tunes? I'm very curious......
  4. Sorry for picking out just this bit. But I have to say in my opinion the days of great allnighter tunes at affordable prices are long gone. Everything even half decent is three figures nowadays with the odd exception.
  5. 12" vs 7" go figure
  6. I highly recommend this: https://www.knosti.de/shop/en/vinyl/30/disco-antistat-record-cleaning-unit?c=14 Been using it for many many years. Very good results. The liquid is meant to be used a couple of times. They charge a lot for refill bottle of the liquid but you can easily mix the liquid yourself with ingredients you get at your local chemist cheap.
  7. The Diplomats - I've got the kind of love/In the ghetto - German CBS (w/ Promo sleeve) - MINT Very hard to find and in fantastic condition, hardly if ever played, comes in original german promo sleeve. 30 25 GBP - Paypal only (F&F preferred) shipping: 8 GBP within EU (tracked/insured) / 11 GBP UK (tracked/insured) / Germany please ask. Any questions, please PM. Thanks!
  8. Jimmy Ruffin - I've passed this way before/Tomorrow's tears - UK Tamla-Motown 593 green/white demo - MINT Fantastic condition, hardly if ever played, comes in original company sleeve. 100 90 GBP incl. tracked shipping - insurance available at cost - Paypal only (F&F preferred) Any questions, please PM. Thanks!
  9. Used to use my own cartridges when dj-ing for many years. Changing/setting them up only takes a few seconds.
  10. Maybe worth mentioning that this german release is the only way to get the brilliant "I'm in need of love" on a 45. Good luck with the sale!
  11. 2.5 max for weight and VTF! Everything above that will cause wear to your records sooner or later.
  12. These prices look much more sensible to me than Manship's. Obvious that Anglo-American has a much smaller customer base. Or at least a base without the more-money-than-braincells lunatics. I always thought of E. Williams as a Popcorn track. Or at least that's where it would sound great, at a popcorn party. Not a Northern Soul record IMO.

  15. The Paris/Steve Mancha boot predates this Sonic Wax 45.
  16. You may have a point here. But I just played a few Steve Mancha tracks and the a-side of the Professionals on Youtube. I can hear only one lead singer on the Professionals track. And he sure doesn't sound like Steve Mancha. Steve Mancha sings in a lower key in his other songs. It might be him on the Professionals, there are some similarities. But if it was he's not singing in a key that's fitting him if you know what I mean.
  17. As this topic seems to go off-topic I will return to the original post. Not sure what you mean by rarity? You mean collectors and/or punters more focused about the rarity of a record than its musical quality? When it comes to exclusivity, I remember I once saw a pic of a late 1960's small ad of somebody offering 5 pounds (? not sure, pre-decimal times) for a copy of Chubby Checker - Discotheque on UK Cameo-Parkway. So even back then folks were willing to shell out to get tunes nobody or most didn't have.
  18. Mal, really enjoyed what you've posted so far! Excellent read. Just one short question, 20k/24k is this the distance to walk? E.g. 20.000m?
  19. one-upmanship has been a driving force in this scene since the very beginnings. Based on that it's only logical to try to source records nobody else (or hardly anyone else) has. And this is where the focus on rarity comes into (IMHO).
  20. This is obviously a fake seller. Fake sellers are a well known problem for/on Discogs. There's even a thread in the user forum to report fake sellers: https://www.discogs.com/de/forum/thread/978013 Please report there. Update: seller darrellgonser already reported as scam 4h ago. However apparently there are still 32 records for sale.
  21. I sold an EX copy of this for 200 back in april. Quick internet research indicated that a M- copy should be 250/300 max. As I type there are 2 issues and 4 copies for sale on Discogs.
  22. Pretty sure it was "Universal Soul Radio Edit". it's a edit of the universal soul mix and with 3:34 running time fits nicely on a 7".
  23. Excellent track. But it's not the first time it came out on 7". It came out as flip to on the bootleg of Melvin Moore - All of a sudden back in the 90s.
  24. You're asking €400 for a Sam Fletcher bootleg? https://www.discogs.com/de/sell/item/2258190727
  25. Excellent track. This will have a physical release in just a few weeks. His debut album is due mid august or early september from what I rememeber.
