  1. While tidying up the record room I came across #1 of Dave McCadden's Soul Galore mag from 1996. He reviews TBD and mentions the a-side as being "say a prayer to me".
  2. THE JOHNSON FAMILY - PEACE IN THE FAMILY/I ONLY WANT TO BE WITH YOU - UK ANTIC (EX) £30 Big 70s Modern spin in recent years. Rarer UK original. Plays really well. Usually £50+ on lists (as they say) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ worldwide P&P from Germany: 3.10 standard / 5.00 signed for / 6.50 fully insured (EU only) Payment Paypal only. As gift if possible but not necessary.
  3. Ebay been charging on postage for quite some time. Blame the sellers who tried to recover their fees back via excessive postage. But in general I agree with uroffal. Ebay's waste of time these days when it comes to selling. I only use it as a last resort for stuff I couldn't sell.
  4. There's also a french issue credited to SK. Again, "say a prayer" being the a-side.
  5. I think you'll find the W/D to be the most common one. Then there's a multi-coloured demo. But never seen an issue.
  6. And only 6 bidders. Shows that the market for such rarities might be rather limited.
  7. I always thought of JT Carter as being white. Thanks for putting that right.
  8. Sounds from the shelter vol. 22 - Welcome to Krautsville 2nd instalment of Northern Soul released in Germany. Mixed bag of 60's and 70's tracks, bonafide soul to poppy ones. 9. The list is from 2002.
  10. And what a fab song that is! Track #2 on Kent's King Soul Ballads CD. Compiled by BobA. Great taste.
  11. If you bought it too cheap you got it off me
  12. Mal, yours was an absolute bargain. TG was the first three figure record I bought. Early/mid 90s @ a ton off Pat Brady. Lovely black issue. When I opened the mailer with a knife the record fell out and broke into 5/6 pieces. Boy was I gutted. Fantastic record, btw!
  13. I had one of those testpressings.Indeed it looks nice.
  14. Pete, could have been even worse. Imagine seller saying Solomon Burke eventually changed his name to Levi Jackson...
  15. No. Certainly not. Though it's 150-200 quid on lists it goes for $150 max on that infamous auction site
  16. I did a Beat Ballads and Slowies podcast last year. And a damn good one IMHO https://soundsfromtheshelter.podomatic.com/entry/2012-07-19T12_25_24-07_00 Rocky Roberts . If he could . 19. And it sure didn't sell for that much on the strength of the alt take of "in the name". Awful version.
  20. Wilson Pickett - Baby don't you weep - Liberty Germany - VG+ £35 SOLD Best and grittiest version of this R&B stomper. No U.S. 45 release. No picture sleeve but original company sleeve. 21. sure but looks lovely too. I'd rather have a Drew record in such a made up sleeve than a boring brown paper one.
  22. Two examples from me 1) 'Moses Smith' bootleg of Epitome of Sound was pressed pichted up 2) Towana "Wear your natural baby" was record slower than it was pressed.
  23. never noticed that. Is there anything on the label referring to a Laurie distribution apart from the matrix #?
  24. I bought two records Brad flattened for a customer. According to the seller both were warped and unplayable. Now they're flat and play absolutely fine. One no warp at all. The other one hardly noticeable. So whatever magical machine Brad uses, it does the trick.
