  1. two from my collection: Paying the cost to be the boss, Heartbreaker. Both solid R&B worth a spin or two
  2. I guess you'll find out the german release is much rarer than the UK one. And I don't want to even think about the italian one.
  3. I guess most copies are "lost" nowadays. Tucked away at the back of the collection of some music business promotion guy or offloaded at the local 2nd hand record shop.
  4. Yes, probably from the west coast find.
  5. Yes, plenty of threads about it. But none of them prove that any copy exists apart from Ian Clark's. Here's a link to Sebastian posts showing a scan of Ian's copy:
  6. Isn't the 7" an 80s release? Or am mixing it up with a different BP track?

  9. You mean, like this:
  10. List updated and some prices reduced.
  11. I really like "Wrong side of town" ever since it came out well over 10 years ago. Nice lyrics. Excellent vocals. Catchy melody. Is it Northern to me? Yes and No to a certain degree. Certainly no upfront Rare Soul material. What I dislike about it and what still leaves a pretty sour taste in my mouth is the scam that IL tried to pull back then. Bullshit stories like "first ever copy found back in 1971 got broken when some famous name sat on it on a bus to the Mecca". Selling a copy to Ginger for a 4 figure sum. etc. etc. That's basically why I never bought a vinyl copy of it. I don't want a record in my collection with such a history. And finally I said it back then when it came out and I say it again now: Anyone who doesn't hear it's a new production, you're probably deaf.

Usually 25+ SOLD BILL HEAD - I AIN'T GONNA CHANGE FOR YOU - DEAR D/J (EX) £15 SOLD Northern Soul in texan style. Nice demo. forgotten Casino spin. 13. Ending tonight 7pm UK time....
  14. Updated and what's left reduced.
  15. I really like the dutch Hesitations and Johnny Wyatt. Great finds! As nice as the euro Motown releases may look, they don't look half as good as some comparatively obscure Northern Soul 45s.
  16. London pressed and distributed Jay Boy in the US. Two different labels I'm aware of. Both have the 'standard' Jay Boy design but one has the typical cream coloured background, the other one has the multi coloured background known from other London releases.
  17. Currently highest offer added to original post. Was asked to give a finishing time as well it's 7pm UK time this coming tuesday.
  18. Plenty of previous topics about that. No need to open another one, isn't it?
  19. I don't like it. But others do, fair enough. But no soul night/allnighter material tho.
  20. I remember both Constellations 45 were mentioned in Shades of Soul somewhere in the mid 90s and tipped to go massive again. "I didn't know how to" got plenty of spins in the late 90s/early 2ks, many copies available but price went through the roof. I paid 25 quid for it and tried to get a copy of "i don't know about you" as well but no luck. very hard to find at that time.

Ruby & Mudflaps - Breezy (clip).mp3 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ worldwide P&P from Germany: £5.10 signed for / £7.90 insured (EU only) Payment Paypal only. 22. erm, post #4
  23. President Germany releases were pressed and distributed by Ariola, the cat number's 'AT' suffix is the clue. Jay Boy were either pressed/distributed by a major or even a sub-label. The cat numbers don't have the 'AT' suffix so it's not Ariola. Have to check my collection at home to come up with more details BTW, there were two different label designs of the US Jay Boy issue of Doris Willingham.
  24. At least he following releases came out in Germany: Jay Boy 1 Doris Willingham (aka Doris Duke) Jay Boy 2 Shadrocks Jay Boy 12 EK Bunch There are probably more I can't remember right now.
