  1. If seller would have followed the guidelines Ivor's post wouldn't be necessary. What's the point of deleting the price?
  2. I know, I said vol. 24 was the final one. But as I sat in my bunker full of music the other day i realized there's still too many records I never featured in any of my podcast. So here's volume 25. A jolly good mix of all sorts of my favourite black-american music with a few oddities thrown in. ♪♪ Sounds From The Shelter Vol. 25 - Right on time ♪♪ Dry Well * Gypsy * Lauren 45 Alice Clark * You hit me (alt take) * GWP LP The Pasadenas * Tribute (Right on) * German CBS 45 Clear Daze * Baby it's nice (to be cared for) * Jamesland 45 Jade * Music Slave * Pesante 45 The Nights * Love knocked you down * ABC LP Barbara Mercer * So real * Sidra 45 The Rockmasters * Raining teardrops * Romulus 45 Magnificent 7 * Ooh baby baby * Dial 45 Tammy Wayne * Have a good time * Boom 45 Tennessee Ernie Ford * 16 tons (1965) * German Capitol 45 Gary Dean * You can say * Young 45 Eugene Gaspard * Holding on * Rosemont 45 Donald Albert * The hardest part * Run-A-Way 12" The Ballads * Butterfly * Music City 45 Little Eddie Taylor * I had a good time * Peacock 45 Misty Moore * Little things * Pzazz 45 Jimmy Church * Right on time * SS7 45 Earl English * Wanting you * Invictus 45 Billy Sha-Rae * Do it * Spectrum 45 The Lovables * You can't dress up a broken heart * Toot 45 Magnificent 7 * She's called a woman * Eastern 45 Debonaires * Headache in my heart * Solid Hit 45 The Intrigues * Don't refuse my love * Port 45 Roy Hamilton * Heartache (hurry on by) * RCA 45 Gwen McCrae * Your love is worse than a cold love * German RCA LP Loleatta Holloway * Mrs. So & So's Daughter * UK Kent 12" Dionne Warwick * Lonely in my heart * German Scepter LP Tony Gregory & Family Child * What I'll do * German Finger LP Art Gentry * This is my chance * UK Kent 12"
  3. I agree that it's really hard to shift decent lower value tunes on Ebay nowadays. I hardly bother putting them on Ebay. Last few things I had, not just soul, but also some doowop and reggae, went for peanuts, like 1 Euro or 3/4 euros max. Even though they were worth much much more. On the other hand, I had three 70's tunes for sale on SS, each worth 300+. None of them sold. Even with price reductions. Eventually I put them on Ebay, But-It-Now prices at my initial prices. They all sold in the end.
  4. Is the Temptones one the same that Butch used to play ("That's when you know you're in love")?
  5. Not even mock up label. Just Norma Jenkins photoshopped in a picture of the Sparkels. Pathetic.
  6. Pretty clear IMO: 6. Please refrain from removing any details from the ads after selling [or obtaining a want]. You can edit to show "SOLD" but better to leave the ad intact please, as the information therein contributes to a database other members can refer to when looking up current prices, availability etc
  7. Maybe Kenny G? Here's the vocal take. Flip of the 12" is instrumental. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsCX1mF-fsA
  8. Yes, definitely Marmite. I really like the harmonica take, though I don't like Marmite. The non-harmonica take is somehow empty IMO.
  9. At the end of the day we're all opprtunists, aren't we?
  10. I find the price of Little Eddie Taylor a bit OTT. But it probably went that high due to its condition.
  11. You missed the great looking picture sleeve. What a cool looking bunch...
  12. Yeah, but a Handy Trax turntable doesn't look half as cool as the suitcase one.
  13. Updated. Remember, deals available on multiple purchases!
  14. I didn't know there are two versions of the powder blue press. What's the other one?
  15. listening as i type i agree with everything said before. great stuff thanks for making and posting this podcast.
  16. Collection clear out. Mainly 70s, slowie, steppers, midtempo, uptempo, boogie. Handful of crossover and 80s thrown in as well. All prices in GBP. Postage stated is for about 1-4 45's. 17. No, you're not mixing up. But you start a thread about an original 1960's record and keep on posting references to recent reissues/bootlegs of that record that have no relevance to the thread. You may read your own topic opener to see what the original question was.
  18. Strange credits but they make sense. Both times the credits are a certain "B. Hall" and the artist himself, Al Scott or Mr. Soul. Maybe the singer's real name was Al Scott and he had the stage name "Mr. Soul"? If that's the case then I guess Al was pressed first, Mr Soul second. (or the other way around )
  19. yes, backing is awesome. vocals awful though.
  20. Just wondering, is the Miracles on London the very first Motown record to be released in the UK? Or are there any others predating it? I could imagine that maybe some early Marv Johnson came out before?
  21. I think Chalky meant that KR offered 700 for a copy?
  22. Rod, good point. Car definitely in the need of a good wash.
  23. Now this is confessing time. While cleaning the record room I found a CD that somehow slipped behind a small cupboard. Obviously homemade w/out any name, title or whatever written on it. Couldnt remember the CD at all. Being curious I took the CD with me the next time I drove the car. first track, and it instantly got repeated plays: Rose Royce - Car Wash.
  24. Ian, thanks for the info. I look forward to the eventual release of the CD set...
  25. Sorry for the misunderstanding, when I said 'soundtrack' I meant the 3 CD package advertised on Amazon.
