  1. I like the vid. Well done. Yes, bloke got a silly haircut. But at least he's clean-shaven. Unlike most 20-30 years blokes around here, they're all bearded. Lumberjack goes Uptown sort of look.

Well, not all of them. "This little boy of mine" is definitely Doug Banks (IMO). The version of Baby Since You Went Away you posted sure isn't.

    Yes.

No idea who the backup group is but it's not Doug Banks singing. Probably a blue eyed effort. And not bad IMO.

  11. There used to be a loop hole in belgian copyright law. Don't remember the details but it was something like you pay your fee to SABAM and sell your product in Belgium only, then you're fine. That's how the Popcorn guys got away with issuing 100's and 100's of bootleg CDs in the 80s and 90. I guess it applies to the bootleg 45s too.
  12. All the dutch Tamla-Motown releases from the 60s on the orange label had big holes.
  13. List updated and Gerry Hayes added. YT vid below for reference only, not taken from actual record

  15. Big spin across Europe 10/15 years ago. Ok, maybe not all of Europe but I remember it from many german and italian dos.
  16. Both "Be Your baby" and "Yesterday is crowding my world" are on her "Lovely way to live" album on Decca. Unfortunately the album is pretty low fi pressed compared to the 45. Edit: Album easily available on Discogs (and cheap too). 45 also there (but not cheap)
  17. Don't want stop you guys discussing turntables. But just one little hint: It's weight/angle/quality of needle/stylus/tone arm that may cause damage to your beloved records. Not the turntable. I got a a 130 Euro turntable in my record room equipped with a Ortofon Red 2 cartridge, correct angle and correct weight set. Perfect.

Flip of UK Liberty release is "Who could be loving you", excellent beat ballad. Only way to get this on 45 (LP-only rest of world). I only found out when I sold my UK Liberty after I got it on german Edit: I just saw Chris' post. Didn't know that. Sorry!
  19. Looking forward to the Munich gig. Never been a fan of Gospel. Let's see if you're gonna convert me
  20. Benji replied to Pete S's post in a topic in Look At Your Box
Only way to ge the flipside on 45 might be reason for the finishing price?
  21. PM'd you re. A. Alexander

And there's me having sold an italian John St John issue for less than 400 the other day
  24. I once asked Reggae legend Daver Barker to sign a record for me. Problem was, he used the same pen he just did to sign an album sleeve, a finger-thick felt pen and ruined the label. It now looks like a 3 year old scribbled on it. Many years ago I bought a copy of Mike & Ray on Giant, described as "heavy wol". Turned it it's signed by both of them. Apart from that I have three albums signed by Terry Callier. One of my alltime favourite singers. Still miss him....
  25. ok, will do the scan tonight.
