  1. Try Record shack. https://www.recordshack.org/ Probably Vienna's number one for old soul records
  2. RANDOLPH BROWN - IT AIN'T LIKE IT USED/YOU CAN BE CURED - IX CHAINS (EX+) £60 Crossover classic with equally good dancer on flipside. Only on the issue, demo is s/sided. CAVIAR - NEVER STOP LOVING YOU - SURVIVOR (EX) £90 SOLD Great early 80s dancer. BOBBY CASH - NOBODY KNOWS - KAP-TAL (VG-) £35 SOLD Solid Northern. This copy sure had a very hard life. But plays really fine, not just "ok for djing". Also ok for playing at home. Please ask for sound clip. Labels bit worn and slightly dirty plus small sol. THE SHOWMEN - A LITTLE BIT OF YOUR LOVE - JOKERS THREE (VG+) £120 Their least known Northern record. Neat little dancer. Soundclips can be found on Youtube. small wol. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Paypal only. Worldwide P&P from Germany: £5.00 signed for (fully insured at cost)
  3. A sale is only listed on Discogs when the respective sales fees were paid. So if the entry says it sold for 123.45 it did. No matter what you're prepared to believe.
  4. I just played the audio clip on Manship's site to remind me of the tune and I stick to what I said almost 10 years ago (see above). Awful singer. How this attracts 5K+ bids I just can't get it. Some records are rare for an obvious reason. They're shite..............
  5. Was about to say that I have the very same demo. Until I pulled it out and noticed that my white demo is a completely different design. And run-out groove reads ZTSP-87423-2D instead of 2B. Weird. However I have no doubt yours an original!
  6. Soul source started off as a chat group. Our at least its predecessor was. 96/97ish
  7. I don't buy any new releases. apart from the odd exception like last year's James Hunter Six album. Usually new releases don't excite me at all. At best they're just carbon copies of the golden sound of the 60s and 70s.
  8. died long time ago from what I remember.
  9. SUE LYNNE - DON'T PITY ME - UK RCA D/J (VG++) £360 incl. EU shipping Genuine UK D/J copy. small label damage (3x2cm) on flipside. Free fully insured shipping in EU Europe. Outside Europe +£10. Paypal only
  10. They all look kosher to me. Or at least the scans do. Do the acetates smell of chemicals? That might be an indication of their age. Originals on Suspension is US. It's not the Motown act.
  11. Since I stopped collecting US 45s I haven't paid any attention to JM auctions. But I do read what's posted on here. I said it before and I say it again: If you believe JM auction descriptions, you also believe Santa is real.
  12. I just noticed that JM has Supremes - Johnny & Joe - German CBS on auction, currently at 13 GBP. What a piss take! It's so common, copies on Discogs start @ €8,00 for a copy w/ PS.
  13. Carver or acetate? I understand they do acetates only.

    OVO

Is there any chance to ban "OVO" topics on Soul Source? I mean, it's all been said and typed and written and meant before. Just not by everyone. It seems. Discussion is always going round in circles. We agree to disagree. And so forth. Four pages of "yawn" material.
  15. New podcast online, stream or download. Hope you'll enjoy it! https://soundsfromtheshelter.podomatic.com/
  16. Alltime favourite of mine. Such a great tune. Haunting guitar riff and silk vocals. I love it. One of many non-traditional sounding records played in the 90s that became massive. It was definitely played at Cleethorpes w/ender around 95-ish. I didn't attend but my wife did, she heard it played there. I used to hammer it here in Munich in the late 90s, first off the ABC mono 45. Later on I played the LP stereo version which I think sounds much better. Paul Weller's take is not a patch on the original. Good production, from a rather general point of view. But when compared to the original, no chance.
  17. Not doubting it's legit, but if they managed to find out who got the rights, Sonic Wax can sure provide some background info about the release, like who was/is Sandy Golden. How did they got hold of the backing track, etc.....
  18. Competition time! Guess the original tune this little pop tune here was 'inspired by':
  19. Family of Eve - please be truthful - Full Sail original 425 GBP incl fully insured shipping in Europe (signed for shipping outside Europe) Solid EX condition. Conservatively graded. Blue vinyl. Beautiful copy! Paypal only. Please PM me for more details.
  20. You're sure you're not mixing up the light blue issues of "If I had known" and "Chills and Fever"? I only know of multi-coloured issues of IIHK.
  21. Tony, are actually saying that IL played it?
  22. 500? I wouldn't even pay a fiver for it. A record Ian Levine would play as a northern soul holy grail on his podcast, it's that bad. but seeing how many are after it on Discogs I'm in a minority. So real problem seems to be my taste in soul music
