  1. Competition time! Guess the original tune this little pop tune here was 'inspired by':
  2. Family of Eve - please be truthful - Full Sail original 425 GBP incl fully insured shipping in Europe (signed for shipping outside Europe) Solid EX condition. Conservatively graded. Blue vinyl. Beautiful copy! Paypal only. Please PM me for more details.
  3. You're sure you're not mixing up the light blue issues of "If I had known" and "Chills and Fever"? I only know of multi-coloured issues of IIHK.
  4. Tony, are actually saying that IL played it?
  5. 500? I wouldn't even pay a fiver for it. A record Ian Levine would play as a northern soul holy grail on his podcast, it's that bad. but seeing how many are after it on Discogs I'm in a minority. So real problem seems to be my taste in soul music

  8. Might be true. The other Adam's Apples release on Brunswick, "You are the one I love" came out in Canada.
  9. not as weird as you think IMO. For exact the reasons you state. One is 40+ old, from the "good old days", hard to find and therefore much more collectable, one is readily available in quantities, less collectable, even though it's legit and in much better sound quality. Back on topic: I'm pretty astonished about the money one could make these days with selling pressings. They seized 150K in a Paypal account.!
  10. I surely agree to that. I used to store my records only in card sleeves and noticed all those tiny little hardly visible scratches over time. Then I used paper inner sleeves plus card board sleeves. Protects the records 100% but also takes up lots of space. I use them 150 count card board boxes* for storages. With paper and card board sleeves I only fit max. 100 in one box, that's 1/3 less. If you have only limited storage capacity that's quite an issue. My storage capacity is rather limited so I now use paper inner sleeves plus heavy duty outer poly sleeves to prevent the labels rubbing on each other. That way I fit about 130-140 records in a 150 count box. * 150 if you use paper sleeves only.

  12. Seems like my price wasn't nice enough. Now 150 quid for a quick sale!
  13. I'd say finding 1960's 45s in true NM/M- condition nowadays is almost impossible. Yet that grade is used by many. I stopped buying stuff on Soul Source as I got stung too often with poor grading. Sad but true.
  14. P.S. I throw in a full coulor copy of the original fact sheet that was sent out to radio stations, promoters, journalists etc...

  17. An empty CC sleeve? That's sad.....

  20. I thought Chris Hill wasn't involved and Mascara was a german production but I stand corrected now it seems. As you already started hijacking this thread to post some of Luther's finest recordings in the last decade how about this soulful house classic? I remember when I played it the first time at a dance here in Munich the dancefloor went mental:
  21. link points to "my ebay"????
  22. absolutely no reason to spends lots on a Technics if it's for home use only. There are many cheaper alternatives like Reloop, Pioneer etc. that sound just as good and last just as long. Just make sure to use proper quality cartridge and needle as mentioned before.
  23. Sure. He's Lola Falana's brother. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lola_Falana
