  1. SAM & BILL - I'LL TRY/I FEEL LIKE CRYIN' - BRUNSWICK UK (EX) £30 HOLD Fantastic Northern Soul b/w equally fantastic deep soul ballad. Nice British black label Brunswick issue. 2. Mine's #94. It was pretty dear at the time I recall, 25 quid or so? I've been selling most of my vinyl compilation over the last few years. But this one I'll never sell. Even if it was just for Chris Marriott's artwork.
  3. Rimini Soul Weekender 2016, combination of sun, soul and sand
  4. Plenty of rather obscure Popcorn, R&B, Beat Ballad and Soul tunes. A few classics blended in and lots of just as obscure cover versions added on top. Stream or download it! https://soundsfromtheshelter.podomatic.com/
  5. BEECHWOOD is the original label of the Gallahads release. BEACHWOOD nicked the label design from Beechwood. seems to be just a bootleg label
  6. One of my wife's all-time favourites. I didn't know before she played it to me and it's one of my favourites too since then:
  7. The demo was bootlegged for the belgian Popcorn scene. But from what I remember it was a pretty lame one. Meaning, it was an obvious pressing. Poor quality. And only a very limited number of copies made. your copy has a bell stamp so it's safe.
  8. BETTY EVERETT - GETTING MIGHTY CROWDED/IT'S IN HIS KISS - UK PRESIDENT w/ PS (VG+) £10 First President press from 1968, not the 70s repress. Comes with the apparently ultra rare original sleeve. See pic attached. I'd say a nice collectable for every UK collector. Please note pic nicked from the net. I don't have a scanner. Any questions, just ask. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Paypal only. Euro-wide P&P from Germany: Standard £5.00 / Signed for £7.50 / Insurance available at cost Outside Europe please ask for quote.
  9. MILTON WRIGHT - THE GALLOP/LIKE A ROLLING STONE - CARLA W/D (EX) £65 SOLD Plays lovely, "x" on both sides, besides that both sides clean. Plain white demo label design. comes in its original company sleeve TONY AMARO - HEY BABY/RUNNIN' AROUND - LOMA W/D (VG+/VG) £30 "Hey Baby" plays a solid VG+. "Runnin around" seems to have been played with a heavy stylus at some time as it appears to sound a bit muffled. Check the soundfiles. Labels tiny bit of wear but no wol, sol, etc. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Paypal only. Euro-wide P&P from Germany: Standard £5.00 / Signed for £7.50 / Insurance available at cost Outside Europe please ask for quote. Tony Amaro1.mp3 Tony Amaro2.mp3

  11. Thanks for the replies. By first issue I meant the first issue of the president release. There's also a second press from the early 70s.
  12. Original sleeve for the first issue of Betty Everett - Getting mighty crowded on UK President. (I don't have a scanner at hand, this is just a pic I nicked off the net) I wonder is this sleeve common? Any ideas?
  13. Tape swapping and later on CD swapping got me literally 1.000's of great (unknown to me) tracks. When we did the Soul Source CD swapping circle about 15/20 years ago, that was a real highlight. Still playing many of those CDs today.
  14. Beside "Essential NW Soul Collection" Goldmine/Soul Supply released at least one other tape, "This is Northern Soul". From what I remember the order of the tracklisting is a bit different to the respective CD release. https://www.discogs.com/de/Various-This-Is-Northern-Soul/release/13595038
  15. THE HYTONES - BIGGER AND BETTER - A-BET (VG) £370 Looks VG- but plays much much better, check the sound clip. Label bit worn but still nice to look at, small wol. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Paypal only. Euro-wide P&P from Germany: £12.00 FULL VALUE INSURANCE! Outside Europe please ask for quote. Hytones.mp3
  16. embarrassing and arrogant.
  17. Mello Souls , Stay well clear of Arthur Willis Tribute . Though might buy one or all available copies and smash em .
  18. https://www.anorakscorner.com/PressingPlantInfo.html Matrix Of Nashville - Nashville Based at 457 Chestnut Street, next door to Southern Plasctics (later URP) at #453. this company made metal parts for the local pressing plants - their work bears the stamped in italic, "Nashville Matrix" wording, sometimes confused as saying "Nashville Mains", due to a worn out stamper.
  19. That Nashville stamp is 100% fake. Original stamp is very faint. And smaller. And looks completely different. Original Nashville stamp here
  20. I used to have the reissue. Flipside was a beatiful beat ballad, Entertainers IV - My garden of eden. However it was credited to Kenard. Original has What Did You Gain on both sides, doesn't it?
  21. It was reissued in the 80s using the original master. Original is from 69 or 70. Reissue has different flip.
  22. Got my copy today. Brilliant. Was looking forward to having Tag Tag on vinyl finally. Am a happy chappy!
  23. I thought Ann Nesby must be over 20 years old by now. It isn't. It's just 19 years old. But still sounds to me as fresh as when I heard it first time back then. These days I'm not into new/current/modern soul releases at all. They just don't do it for me. I got into the soulful side of house music in the late 90s/early 2ks. Plenty of amazing tunes were released back then. Come mid 2000's I found less and less tunes to my liking. Eventually I drifted away and focused back on 60s/70s tunes. However, there's one tune from the late 90s, infact 21 years old now that still does it for me. It's just perfect:
  24. Just a short question. Does somebody know where the name "Tangeers" comes from?
  25. I guess it's pretty save to assume that only UK bidder are involved in auctions of UK 45s. Unless it's a UK only tune. Which JC isn't. I never heard of anyone outside UK collecting UK 45s.
