  1. giving it u gentle bump... i'm sorted now with a medium quality mp3 of alfie davison, so just need curtis to finish the CD for the missus. anyone? BTW, still wouldn't mind a good quality mp3 of alfie davison... TIA
  2. hi everybody, i need mp3's of the 12" versions of alfie davison "love is a serious business" and curtis "how can i tell her", can some kind soul help me out? they're for a CD for my wife so good quality and at least 128 bps required. THANKS! benji
  3. got a copy of "hurts on me baby" on stang for sale if anyone's interested PM please
  4. yes, german RCA test pressing of a complete judy freeman & blackrock album that to my knowledge remained unissued (and was shite anyway). i didn't get it from ebay but from an ex-sound engineer who used to work for german RCA in cologne...
  5. here i am Al, hope you're fine??? yes the u/r version came from me, still got my 10" of it somewhere. if i'll find it i'll give it a spin at our local do i thought greg sold it to shifty?
  6. frankie & the damons doesn't show end price, only start price (1 quid)???
  7. what value would a complete set have? a grand?
  8. wasn't it more about people smoking dope after the allnighters to come down?
  9. they did one with ray pollard's "this time" on the flip. but i meant a "proper" reissue, i.e. with the original flipside. its one of my alltime favourites and among the best tracks shrine ever issued (IMHO). anyone with 600 dpi scans of both sides of the shirley edwards 45? i'm off to vinyl carvers in a minute
  10. speaking of rare shrine 45s, does anyone know if shirley edwards was ever re-issued? i somehow have a feeling my chances of ever getting an original are rather bad ... PS. checked popsike for shrine 45s, loads of them on ebay but most in rather bad condition. i guess it's not hard to find any shrine records, it's hard to find them in playable condition...
  11. " This video has been removed due to terms of use violation."
  12. i'm also after a copy if anyone can help me out?
  13. makes sense in some cases, i got a 7" solid center 33 rpm issue of jimmy mcgriff's "all about my girl" that is over 4 mins long whereas the 45 rpm ends at about 2:30 min. edit: both records are on the US sue label, there's no hint on the 33 rpm 45 it might originate from south america or so ...
  14. i have a EX copy tucked away that i might sell, i think it's the more common one (i.e. "no.1"), please PM if interested and i'll try to find it, ok?
  15. jason, i'm benji schlamp glad you like the CD, any questions just let me know either on-site or by PM cheers benji
  16. chalky, you're sure you're not wrong by approx. a decade? back in 1993/1994 there weren't that many returnees were there? back then me and paul were both swapping tapes with a quite a few UK collectors and none of them knew the vanguards (paul also picked up their other rarity and that one was covered as by the dells too).
  17. marc, you're close but off by about a year. it was around late 93/early 94 when paul got his copy of the vanguards (we were good mates back then), he covered it as by the dells, approriate name i think there's a nice story about him getting the vanguards 45 but won't bore you guys with it unless you want me to
  18. one last bump ... fleur de lys - stop crossing the bridge/brick by brick - UK atlantic (VG++,small wol/sol) - 27 UKP joey haywood - talk to me baby - enjoy (EX, nice R& - 14 UKP chet davenport - can't get over you - toeholt (EX, small wol, same as traffic jam) - 66 UKP 105 quid incl. insured p&p in europe for the lot, anyone? (book value 225!)
  19. allegedly it had but never seen it only heard of it...
  20. marc, i wish you were right but these discs were part of a deal not connected to soul source in any way
  21. was wondering if you guys can help me. i bought a record for 18 UKP on ebay last week. turned out the record wasn't in the condition as described, it had a bit of WOL on one side and labels were reversed. fair enough seller offered part refund but asked me what amount i'd suggest. i thought knocking off about 5 UKP is ok, what do you think? TIA benji
  22. updated:
  23. was asked if i could add prices in UKP as a guideline so here they are: marvin smith - who will do your running now - italian curtom (EX, "demo" sticker on label) - 100 UKP fleur de lys - stop crossing the bridge/brick by brick - UK atlantic (VG++,small wol/sol) - 27 UKP marva allen - i'm thru with you - excello W/D (EX, lovely R&B dancer) - 34 UKP the groove - love it's getting better - 20th century W/D (EX,small warp, n.a.p.) - 40 UKP joey haywood - talk to me baby - enjoy (EX, nice R& - 14 UKP chet davenport - can't get over you - toeholt (EX, small wol, same as traffic jam) - 66 UKP
  24. chet davenport reduced again as i just seen it on another list for 75 quid, seems like i was not up to date pricewise (75 quid is about 115 euros) if anyone needs soundclips, just PM me. NB: marvin smith is an issue copy with proper flipside, with just a small italian "demo" sticker on label. plays really fine and is by far the hardest format for this crossover classic...
