  1. thanks for the replies! agree with both of you on donald jenkins. but what about the two different issues of the shufflers? i'd say about 75 for "shufflers" and abut 100 for "jay & the shufflers"? i got one of them (forgot which one) tucked away and think about selling it but don't want to overprice it...
  2. Hi, what's a realistic (i.e. not guide price) value for: Donald Jenkins - Somebody help me - Cortland Jay & The Shuffers - Always be mine - Crackerjack The Shufflers - Always be mine - Crackerjack Anyone know? I checked Manship's site but I think his prices are a bit OTT .... TIA Benji
  3. i probably don't really get what "mamsey pamsey" is, but it sounds like what we call "teenage girl angst drama" stuff. if that's correct you could ask jo wallace for some tips. many years ago she told me about spinning northern at a gay club in london. they all went crazy for female drama songs, e.g. ivories - please stay
  4. I just checked my feedback on ebay.com, exactly as it should be??? are you registered as a professional seller? I guess so, that might explain it, I'm private seller...
  5. waaayyyy too fast to dance to!
  6. I noticed it too, last time I looked it was 241. Don't know if (and how many) copies are around but wasn't aware of its demand. Think I sold it for 30-40 a couple of years ago I wonder how much James Bootie Tuten will fetch? Does it get any spins at the moment?
  7. and someone did snap it up , record on hold! NOW SOLD
  8. Toby, now this puzzles me. How can this record not go with any other stuff in your collection? I think it's one of the best 60s tunes ever recorded and if I had it I wouldn't sell it in a million years...
  9. I got it from a belgian dealer. he told me he used to buy and sell copies on a regular basis but rather cheap, no big demand for it. then it came out on a Kent CD, demand grew and pricewise from about 25-30 quid up to about 60-70. then it got spins here and there at venues, demand and price grew even more. price now? well, i had a few people interested in it so my price was either ok or cheap
  10. Thanks to everyone who got in touch with me for my wants. I just posted a few discs in the sales section that I'm willing to trade for discs off my wants list ...

  15. well-known belgian crook. surprises me he's still around. he probably stung more people than the number of newies butch has found if you know you what I mean
  16. can scan these for you if you still need them? please send me a PM, ok?
  17. mind, it only has to look M- but can play FAIR or worse, Gasher already got a copy that plays fine but looks shite. One copy to look at and one copy to play seriously, my advise: step 1 - ask for a partial refund so that the amount you've paid actually reflects the condition of the record. failing step 1 take step 2 - demand a full refund and return the bloody disc. way to expensive to leave the situation as it is now. you'd be the one who loses in the end wouldn't you? remember, there'll still be the next top #1 want waiting around the corner if you know what I mean... failing step 2 take step 3 - name and shame the seller, talk to him from face to face and sort it out in a way he/she will not forget ...
  18. thanks! original posting edited...

  20. yes, same tune as richard caiton. both versions lovely but r. caiton just wins it for me. richard caiton used to be 100-150 (no idea of what c. otis is worth) but i've seen it listed for much more recently. which one's rarer? i guess charles otis...
  21. Dena Barnes - Who am I, flipside to "if you ever walk out of my life" great track!
  22. ok, it's indeed a bit harsh to say lou's take is dog poo, that's german diplomacy for you i just think lou sounds like a more demo-ish take whereas roy is a prime example of a big-city-everything-but-the-kitchen-sink-thrown-in-beat ballad.
  23. IMHO, a nice track but dog poo when compared to roy hamilton's masterpiece. sorry!
