  2. it's not a bootleg. legally reissued and taken from the original master tapes I recall. Was advertisted in one of the very first issues of Voices from the Shadows I read (1991-ish??. I think it even was Rod Dearlove himself who had the reissue done in the states...
  3. Just to get my point straight for once and all. I found and still find Ian Levine calling anybody on here fascist totally out of place and disgraceful but I didn't comment to any of these posts because they weren't addressed to me. But your post was addressed to me, hence my reply. And now, please leave me out of your crusade or whatever your mission is. I'm neither on your side nor Ian Levines side. I'm just lurking and keeping my fingers crossed that this thread will go back to interesting stories about the days of the Mecca. Actually, Ian, I got a question for you if you don't mind: The other day you wrote that you started playing new releases because the 60s discoveries weren't up to your own quality standard. I understand that from the mid 70s on you played nothing but new releases. Now did it happen back then that you came across a brilliant 60s unknown you really liked but couldn't play because of your "new releases only" policy?
  4. 1) The message Trouble posted wasn't threatening it was insulting. bit of a difference, isn't it? 2) If threatening and/or insulting PM's are sent to a member it's an issue for the site owners/administrators. Consequences should be made by them and neither by you, me, Tom, Dick, Harry. 3) Please spare me with crap like "... your german system.." or "dictatorship ... sound familiar mate?". I don't see any relevance of what Trouble did to the country I come from. Now back to lurking for me.
  5. I'm only registered to a handful of german and international discussion forums (most of them not northern soul related) but they all got one thing in common: immediate ban for a member posting private messages on the board. James, if I was a admin I'd ban you for at least a week NOW!
  6. Ending tomorrow morning...

  9. Dave, any chance of a priced list on here? Can't access your site from my work computer. Wish I had something of similar calibre to trade for James Lately. WHAT A RECORD! "tears are falling from my face" one of my alltime favourite 60s soul tracks...

  21. yep, that's correct. Done back in the 80s or even 70s...
  22. Was about to list a few 45s on Ebay when I noticed that the previously free Auction Player is now called eCommerce Player and actually costs a bob or two. Does anyone know if there is a free alternative to Auction Player? I found it was a very useful tool but I'm only listing a few records every now and then on Ebay it's not worth spending $17 per month for eCommerce Player. TIA Benji
  23. I'm after Justin Jones too, posted it on here but not one reply in weeks and you get the bugger within minutes
  24. I got a IMO very nice instrumental by the Packers called "Hollywood baby" on a french Polydor EP. Does somebody know if this came out on 45 anywhere else? I checked John Manship's site and it isn't listed. I know it's on their "Hole in the wall" LP on Pure Soul. TIA
  25. If that's "That's when you know you're in love" it's an uncredited west coast acetate. Or at least that's what Chris Marriott told me and I wouldn't know why I d should doubt that.
