they did at least three P-Vine CDs on Tommy Tate. Bought two of them blind, unfortunately both didn't feature any of his "older" material. If anybody wants them just PM me
  2. I finally got one two weeks ago. My copy was definitely pressed in the early 70s. Maybe Gino pressed up some additional copies in the late 80s/early 90s after enquiries from the UK? Can you ask Tomo (is that Tomo from Middlesbrough?) to post a scan of his copy here so we compare label designs? Have to agree 100% with you. The production is rather amateur-ish, he misses the right notes every there and then but it's the sheer commitment that comes with the song that makes it so special (at least to me).
  3. Does anyone have more information about Anthony Hall - Baby girl of mine - Virtue Early 60s Popcorn classic that apparently is pretty rare. Anyone confirm? And if I wanted a copy how much shall I be prepared to splash out for it? Has it been played outside the Popcorn scene? Thanks! Benji

in summer I missed a VG++ copy on a UK website @500 quid. so neither that rare nor that expensive as many apparently think.

bargains from moerer? which bargains if you don't mind me asking? 10/15 years ago you could get many bargains from him. but in recent years? i gave up browsing his lists as there weren't any decent priced records any more, he eventually gave up sending any lists to me as well

still only 2 KNOWN copies. the story about these students finding a third copy was just a hoax, rumour, whatever you call it. i think it started when a record shop owner in the States glued a FW label on another record and stuck it on the wall to see the reaction of any UK customer checking out his stock
  7. thanks for the replies. yes I've seen it on manship's but i'm neither into bidding for records nowadays (unless I have to ) nor collecting acetates (unless I have to ). seems like it's sorted now (just waiting for confirmation). received more than one offer so it's either not as rare as I thought it'd be or people are more willing to part with it.
  8. LAST BUMP, ENDING TONIGHT!
  9. LITTLE BUMP, AUCTIONS ENDING SUNDAY NIGHT. STILL NO OR JUST LOW BIDS ON MOST ITEMS...
  10. is that john "spaghetti" weston?
  11. no I haven't, I can't get on Dave's site from the office PC. Can you or somebody else please have a look for me?
  12. yes sure, my mistake. just checked it on Manship's site, it was "like a rolling stone" that was released back in the 60s on Carla (flipside to "the gallop") so it's "i belong to you" that came out first on Satiron. Or is "like a rolling stone" on Carla an instrumental take?
  13. Gino Washington - So in love - Atac 2828 must be VG++ or better. Anyone? Please PM TIA Benji
  14. never seen one of these and I live in this f**ing country! But actually I might have seen it in the past but didn't bother with it, Wilson Pickett certainly not one of my favourite singers. I got BDYW on a different album (but same track listing) it's I think from Italy or France or so.
  15. it's on Atac 2828 and according to Dave Rimmer's Gino Washington discography #2829 was released in 1975. I guess it was released around 72/73, it definitely sounds like from that period. But the final question is: WHO'S GOING TO SELL ME A NICE COPY FOR A FAIR PRICE?
  16. Maybe another nomination? Milton Wright - Like a rolling stone - Satiron previously unreleased recording that came out on the flipside of "i belong to you" on Satiron, a John Anderson 70s private press prior to the Grapevine release.
  17. yours was an autographed demo, wasn' it? so "unsigned" issue 200/250 max?? anyway, I'm willing to pay a fair price if anyone has a nice copy for me, at least EX condition. Or shall I post it in the Wants section? BTW, thanks for your replies guys!
  18. Played Gino Washington's "I'm so in love" on my iPod this morning. Despite him struggling to hit every note I just fell in love with it! What a powerful and passionate song, isn't it? Anyway, if I would try to find a copy how much would I have to pay for it? And would I have to search for a very very long time or are there copies out there? I tried to answer that myself and came up with: Q1) 250-ish Q2) yes What do you lot think? TIA Benji
  19. From what I remember despite being released on several labels it's just the one album, i.e. same songs in same order??
  20. Rich, maybe I should have added a smilie to "soul police" as it was meant to light-hearted. I know that general consent was not to include 12". Somehow it's not that easy to be ironic or sarcastic in a different language...

  22. think Pete S had it on his list for 120 recently?
  23. yes Garland Green was on Kent LP first. According to the Soul Police 12" are to be omitted as they are technically no 7" 45s even if they play at 45 or 78 or whatever..
  24. It's not an actual german release. It was pressed in Germany, yes but so were many UK Ace and Kent releases back then. Ace has/had a sub-label called Southbound so this 7" is more likely to be a UK issued record that was pressed in Germany.
