  1. So it did on my copy. As I'm not that familiar with Reggae, especially instrumentals, it took me some time to identify it. But it really is Val Bennett - High tide.
  2. the flipside of the Chappy 45 is Rupie Edwards Allstars with Val Bennett - High tide
  3. You're welcome
  4. Unless it's in M- condition, this should be well below 100 quid. And never ever an auction item, no matter what the condition is. This turns up regularly yet most copies seem to be VG+ condition, it's a low-fi pressing so scratches are pretty audible. A M- copy should be 125 max.
  5. Used to have a copy of this until recently, it's from the 70s. Excellent pressing and soundquality, might be even taken from the master tape. I might be mixing it up with something else but i think it has a skinhead reggae track on flip, Val Bennett? Don't know if it's a different take to any other versions as it's the only one I know. Never had it on another label and don't recall having it on LP or CD either.
  6. Thanks! Labels added...

  11. Mr Burton, sorry if I sounded like I was correcting you. I quoted it simply as a reference. Please accept my deepest apologies
  12. "one of the scene's rarities"? Popsike alone shows 5 copies, two above 2K and three copies way below 2K. I think a starting bid of $2.000 is simply too high.
  13. I'd return from my dj retirement and play it just to p*ss you off...
  14. That's the one, thanks Ady! Any info about it? Soundclip anyone?
  15. Someone enlighten me please, it's doing my head in. Who did the other version of Johnny Moffett "You're the one"? Old Roger Banks spin?
  16. But posting advert for an upcoming release isn't IMHO, I'm sure that's what Mike meant.
  17. That's very interesting! Bought the album just for TOYL and never actually played the other tracks. Will dig it out and see what sort of stuff was considered not to be worth releasing in the 70s. And TOYL being unfinished, I always thought it had a very sparce backing but that explains it now. But I think it suits Mavis' vocals rather fine.

  21. A great LP! I think "2nd window 2nd floor" off that album deserves a mention as well, it's on the recent "in the naked city" Kent CD too.
  22. I got a 5 CD set full of Blues and R&B with double entendre. How about "keep on churning till the butter comes"? Or "I like my babys pudding"? But the best one is still Jackie Wilson and LaVern Baker doing their xx-rated version of "think twice"...
  23. Don't you think there's a difference between shipping delay caused by a lazy seller and shipping delay caused by the Post Office? Thorsten had every right to leave negative feedback, because not sending the record for almost two weeks is just not on. Period! I had some very lazy sellers myself during the last few months, e.g. time gap of 2/3 weeks between receipt of payment and posting of disc. Was tempted to leave negative feedback. I didn't eventually but I wish I did.
  24. My UK London demo got the same flip as the Flippin release. And if Popsike is anything to go by, UK London rarer than US Flippin
