  11. The italian version of Jimmy Radcliffe came out in Italy on a jukebox 7", there's a scan of it posted somewhere on Soul Source. Motown released foreign versions of their bigger hits all over the world. I recall seeing spanish, french, italian and german versions done by Four Tops, Supremes, Temps, etc. The rarest and by far most collectable german releases are Temps "Mein girl" (my girl) (worth about 250 quid) and Marvin Gaye "Wie schoen das ist" (How sweet it is) (about 75 quid). The flipside to Marvin Gaye "Sympatica" is a german only release, written and produced by a german composer. But on the Northern Soul side of things the only non-english track I recall is the Tielmann Brothers "Viel zu spaet" which is a german cover of Bobby Goldsboro "Too late". Certainly not Soul by any means but at least of some sort of relevance to Northern.
  12. It came out on german issue as well but is soooo rare! I once had it on issue but sold it when I got the demo with the picture sleeve, thinking this to be the rarest format Mind even the german demo is not that easy to find...
  13. Haven't heard LaReine La mar for quite some time now but I recall her voice sounding very similar to Marion Stewart. They might have been one and the same?

  17. 20 quid max...
  18. Right on both accounts, UK issue pressed for the Belgian scene. big center hole and photostat label.
  19. Love it to bits but wouldn't play it out if I had a copy. The lyrics make me sit down and listen to it instead of wobbling around the floor to it...
  20. Not soul, but on Google the first link see here "The world's most expensive record we could find has an estimated value of $180,000.00 USD. Unfortunately the only collection you will ever find it in is that of Paul McCartney. Recorded in 1958 by the Quarry Men, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, Colin Hanton and John Duff Lowe, the first pressing of their version of That'll Be The Day would be a jewel in any collection."
  21. Some of the unreleased tracks didn't do it for me too at the time when I bought the CDs. I never liked you only live twice, the strident chorus spoils it for me and LC's voice seems to be a bit off key at times. Will dig out volume 1 and 2 tonight, maybe the unreleased RCA stuff is like a good wine and needs maturing
  22. Also on a very rare 1970s coloured bootleg. see recent thread about that...
  23. Am I mixing it up or isn't this the one that Tim Brown rates well into three figures (800+??)?
