  2. Nige, thanks for wetting my appetite (not) 100 too much for me. When I asked for current value a few weeks ago I was told anything between 25 and 75. Or do you want to do a trade?
  3. I'm after Veda - What it's all about - West Sounds (VG+ or better) Willing to pay a reasonable price depending on condition. Please PM me if you can help. Thanks!
  4. Wanted: Randy Brown - I'm always in the mood - Parachute 45 Willing to pay up to 50 quid (inc. post), depending on condition. Please PM me. Thanks Benji
  5. If you're not too bothered about the label as long as it's an original 60s item, try finding the EP on spanish HIT. Shouldn't cost more than a third of a Roulette copy and has Kenny Ballards I'm losing you as a bonus on the flip
  6. Yes, it is an edited 12" version on the Lou Curtan side
  7. Chalky, PM me your email address and I'll send you excellent quality scan of Limitations. It's in .tif format but Soul Source won't allow me to upload this format for whatever reason...
  8. It's a boot made for the US Beach Music scene,
  9. Actually, that's right in a sort of way. Minor clicks and to a degree background noises 'disappear' when played out loud. Has something to do with the speakers set up in the clubs. Basically, you're wrong. Unless the record features really heavy scratches or jumps, then you're right. That just about sums it up. Maybe worth adding that I'd never use a minter to dj with, it can only ruin or wear out the vinyl and after your set you end up with a (ex-) minter. When I was dj'ing regularly I bought loads of records with either worn/waterdamaged label and/or in VG-/VG condition only. They're much much cheaper and absolutely fine to play out loud.
  10. Final bump, auctions ending in a few hours...
  11. Looks like a reissue from around the same time as they reissued kenard what did you gain by that b/w entertainers iv - my garden of eden (early/mid 70s?). i recall original stampers were used for kenard/entertainers iv, i.e. reissue has same delta no. as the original. same here?
  12. Little bump. Auctions ending this coming sunday evening...
  13. Worth pointing out that it's not possible to send or receive 'gift' payments when registered in Germany. If this also applies to other countries, I don't know. I only started recently to charge %4 fees for any payment below 20 quid as the majority of my sales are below that amount and I eventually lose lot of money (Paypal charges me more for any payment in GBP than in EUR!). But I don't see any point to charge extra for fees for anything over 20 odd quid. That's just greedy.
  14. Gareth, thanks for all the info. Safe to assume my copy isn't the mispress I didn't know how different both takes are but your description helped me to get a picture if you know what I mean.
  15. Can somebody please supply run out groove details of the alt. take west coast mispress of Shop Around that John Manship has just put up on auction? I have a west coast press myself but to be honest am not familiar enough with the song to hear if I have the alt. take or not. Thanks Benji
  16. The french singer Richard Anthony (i.e. not the guy on the Virtue 45) had a few releases on french Tamla-Motown and on german as well I think. He also had at least one release on US Motown, one of the sub-labels I think. Many many moons ago I had a few Richard Anthony tracks on a tape, I recall them all being pop apart from one good stomper, or am I wrong?
  17. I've always found Emanuel Laskey a bit odd. Whether Emanuel is a good or bad first name is up to personal taste. But how on earth did a black singer from Detroit end up with a typical east prussian/polish surname?
  18. I'm fine with that, as long as you don't mention the war
  19. Funny you mention that, I had problems with about 7-8 buyers over the last few months. All these buyers either paid very slowly or not at all. All came from the UK. A cultural thing maybe?

  23. Chalky, (belated) thanks for the link. I'll give it a try tonight...
  24. I agree, lead singer obviously influenced a lot by Edwin Starr yet he sounds like the same lead as on many (if not all) other Shades of Blue recordings. BTW, Shades of Blue are online. Click here
  25. No need to get sarcastic just because you're wrong and I'm right
