Auctions ending this coming sunday. All records still at bargain prices... -
Two days ago Ebay sent out messages re. updates to Ebay Buyer Protection and Privacy Policy. There's one little bit in it that might be interesting for this thread: We reserve the right to suspend a buyer's coverage under the eBay Buyer Protection Policy if we suspect that buyer is colluding with a seller to misdeclare the value or type of an item for evading customs fees.

A nice selection for sale. Northern/R&B/Crossover. Any further questions, just PM me. Discount available on multiple purchases. Audio files for all records can be found here Steve Mancha - Friday night/Monday through thursday - Groovesville (VG) £80 This record obviously had a hard life. But still plays surprisingly good, especially the flipside. The Variations - Shakin' and breakin - MTA (Demo, EX) £50 Seems to be lesser known/overlooked? Full blown 100 mph uptempo Northern from the west coast. Check the sound file! Willie Harper - But I couldn't - Alon (EX) £10 Stafford Classic, very slight warp NAP Mary Ann Fisher - Forever more - Seg-Way (VG++) £15 Early 60s mid-/uptempo, nice one! Chuck Jackson - Hand it over - Wand (VG++) £10 SOLD Joe Tex - Don't play - Checker (VG++/EX) £15 Proper hard stomping R&B Richard Barbary - When Johnny comes marching home - Spring (Demo, VG++) £10 Excellent lesser known midtempo, stomps along nicely. Production sounds "very Detroit-ish". Check the sound file! Tommy Youngblood - Hello darling/Did I ever make you cry - Chattahoochee (EX) £20 6T's/R&B double-sider. Two nice sides. The Dramatics - Your love was strange - Volt (EX) £10 Detroit crossover, seen for £30. Lovely sweet soul ballad on flip Edwin Starr - Running back and forth/Time - Tamla Motown UK (EX, edge damage) £5 One of his best. Lovely crossover b/w alltime classic. Some strange damage to the run-in-groove tho, looks like pressing plant damage. Plays through w/out any problem, it just looks odd. The Precisions - You're sweet/Mexican love song - D-Town (EX) £20 Great vocal group double-sider. £75 on Manship's site. Check the sound file! Eddie Powers - Gypsy woman told me - Sims (VG++) £5 6T's mid to uptempo from New Orleans Magic Lanterns - Baby, I gotta go now - Atlantic (EX) £5 blue-eyed group and not the slightest bit rare. But what a track, so catchy! Check the sound file! Mighty Marvellows - This town's too much - ABC (EX) £10 Chicago uptempo Northern. Kim Weston - Another train coming - Tamla (W/D, EX) £30 Early 60s Soul/Popcorn. Typical Motown sound from that era. Nice white demo Jay & The Techniqes - Help yourself to all my lovin'/Baby make your own sweet music - Smash (EX) £5 Don't let that name put you off. Catchy "feel good" dancer! And a cheesy Northern classic as bonus on the flipside Mel Williams - That don't make me sad - Soul Time (EX) £25 nice L.A. mid to uptempo R&B. Had spins on the Mod/R&B scene recently. £100 on Manship's site (he probably knows something about the record I don't) B.B. King - The hurt - ABC (EX) £10 6T's Dancer. Same as Freddie North on RIC Little Pattie - Pushin' a good thing too far - HMV Australia (EX) £20 Australian only cover of Barbara Lewis/Sandy Williams. faster and "girlier" than the other two versions. Ann Peebles - I can't let you go/Walk away - Hi (Demo, EX) £5 Southern Soul dancer b/w killer ballad from 1969. Produced by Willie Mitchell and Gene Miller. Postage worldwide: £3.20 / Postage Germany: £1.50 /Paypal only Please PM for further info.

King Tutt is volume 2. Both volumes made it on vinyl. Fantastic compilations!

It was even less than 20 at one time. When the first batch turned up about 15 years I bought two copies, tenner each. Shrewd businessman I am I later sold both on @ 30 and 50 quid each thinking I made a nice profit. For sure it's not one that is around in quantity. When you look at the label (partially hand stamped, some credits missing, etc.) you know immediately it's a private press that didn't sell well.

Got it from here

This Record Definitely Doesn't Exist, (Or Does It) ?
Benji replied to 45cellar's topic in Look At Your Box
Wow, that's a nice one. Well done, Dave! I collect german presses and I always wish one day I'll find a beauty like this instead of pop sh*t like Derek Christien -
Slightly off topic. Judy Stokes = Judy Page (former Ikette) from Peoria, IL https://www.peoriajazz.com/home.php?section_lvl=website_artist&sub_lvl=profile&artist_id=2004051714593940a919aba669a

Marge Dodson - Bricks, Broken Bottles And Sticks
Benji replied to Pete S's topic in Look At Your Box
Common one, it's the "amateur copy" that everyone's after (or was that "amateur porn"?) Anyway, it's known I think. Should be around 50/75? -

Tony, I did read all your words. Did you too? -

And the fact that it was mentioned as just bumbling under the Billboard Top 100 for a few weeks in october 64. Back to the Volumes on Pama: Dave/Tony, honestly, claiming you've seen a copy 40 odd years ago means FA in the end. -
Think I have to stand up for Richard Domar. Used to buy loads of stuff off him in pre-Internet days . He got his own "rules of acquisition" that I agree are a bit odd. But I got along with him very well as long as I stuck to these rules. Whenever I phoned him to order stuff I ended up chatting with him endlessly about german football clubs. Infact sometimes I went to my parents to call Richard as I knew the phone bill would ruin me

purple issue rarer than demo (and more attrative looking) so you're not that far off. I'd 150 WD and 200 issue. One of my alltime favourite beat ballads, should be 500+ just for the quality.

There is infact a french release by the Invincibles. But I think it' "that love of mine". And I can't remember if it's on 45 or EP. Very vague I know but it might help you
-
Sorry, can't acess Popsike from my office PC. It's just that I heard of the french EP a few times but never of a german EP so I assumed you might be looking for a press that actually doesn't exist. But thanks for correcting. Another one for my wants list of german presses.
-
I guess the EP you're looking for is french not german

I may just don't get it: seller sends insured only and buyer insists on the goods being sent just registered? if that's the case why is it a scam?

Derrick Harriott - The Loser (Incredibly Soulful Rocksteady 45)
Benji replied to Pete S's topic in Record Sales
Wish I had seen this earlier One of the best (and probably one the slowest) Rocksteady tunes! Would have bought it straight away at that price... -
(First posted it about 8 weeks ago. Unfortunately the record got lost in the post so here I am again:) A close friend of mine is trying to find a nice copy of Five Royales - Catch that teardrop either on Home of the blues or ABC. Doesn't have to be mint but should be playable at least. He'd be able to pay up to 200 quid, depending on condition. Please PM me with price and condition, Thanks!
