  1. Little Curtis & The Blues - Please keep me - Vanco
  2. Plenty of Northern 45s in France. Two three that spring to mind: Willie Hutch- Love runs out - RCA Linda Jones - I can't take it - Warner Bros (?). And one from the 70s I recently snapped up: Sammy Gaha - Thank you thank you - Barclay (first label, canadian Right On came one year later)
  3. Maybe worth trying to contact who actually made the CD? Here's what it says on Amazon: This product is manufactured on demand using CD-R recordable media. Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply. Wouldn't mind a copy myself
  4. Your post and a Google search for golly "see you at tea time" helped. It now makes sense to me. Thanks. Selling a Northern Soul Golly "negro" is just plain stupid. Edit: that's the one you're talking about isn't it?
  5. Can somebody translate that for us foreigners please? Cheers...
  6. Wrong thread I'm afraid?
  7. The apparently german-only version of Cliff Nobles "love is allright" by the Johnson Brothers is horrible. Complete talent-free singer with very amateur-ish backing. THAT makes your ear bleed. Will post it in RefoSoul soon You mean Southwind Symphony? I think that's a brilliant version. But as they say one man's Helen Shapiro is the other man's Lavern Banker Isn't the sh*te one the first and/or original version?
  8. No top price IMO. Going rate is about a grand isn't it? Fantastic record BTW!
  9. At least his logic beats your logic ("you'll have to trust me it's a bootleg") Seriously, how can you spot the red letter demo is a pressing? had the black letter demo myself, styrene i recall and superb sound quality. is the red letter one vinyl?
  10. I understand that final fees will be based on the cheapest postage you offer? E.g. you sell a record international but final fee is based on winning price + domestic postage.
  11. Sylvester (as in Tweety & Sylvester) but who's the crocodile?
  12. Last bump, auctions ending in a few hours. All still at bargain prices!
  13. Auctions ending this coming sunday. All auctions still at bargain prices and scans/audio clips!
  14. I still think it's a fabulous record, won't be suprised if it will be in my alltime 70s top ten when I'm old and grey Wish it wasn't that rare so that I could buy a copy at a reasonable price....
  15. Flip of Sinceres is called "dont' waste my time" and it's a different song from what I recall (like you don't have it anymore).
  16. Nice one Sebastian! I just bought a german copy of her "Love makes a woman" album. Will check which version is on it. And agree, picture not really flattering. She looks like she's off her t*ts
  17. As it happens, I have a copy of the Five Stairsteps on Ebay Please click here start price $0.99
  18. Picked this up on Ebay the other day and was wondering if it came out anywhere else but Germany: Johnson Brothers - The horse / Get ready - Juke Box (Germany) The horse is actually a cover of "love is alright" (Cliff Nobles version). Wish I could say that both tracks are fantastic cover versions but infact they are complete sh*te (I collect german 45s so I have to keep it) Anyway, back to my question. Was this released anywhere else?
  19. Another nice mix of 45s now on Ebay: Classics, Semi-Knowns, Demos, Issues, Northern, R&B all with starting prices as low as 99 Cents! MARY ANN FISHER - FOREVER MORE - SEGWAY (Nice early 60s dancer) JERRY BUTLER - MOODY WOMAN - UK MERCURY ANN PEEBLES - I CAN'T LET YOU GO/WALK AWAY - HI D/J (southern soul dancer b/w great ballad) FIVE STAIRSTEPS - DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME - WINDY C (Original and better version of Shamettes) RICHARD BARBARY - WHEN JOHNNY COMES MARCHING HOME - SPRING (Lesser known, great midtempo dancer) G.L. CROCKETT - IT'S A MAN DOWN THERE - 4 BROTHERS (Earthy R&B) TOMMY YOUNGBLOOD - HELLO DARLING/DID I EVER MAKE YOU CRY - CHATTAHOOCHE (Lesser known 6T's/R&B double-sider) BALLADS - MY BABY KNOWS HOW TO LOVE HER MAN - VENTURE (West Coast Northern) VARIATIONS - SHAKIN' & BREAKIN' - MTA DJ (Lesser known Northern, rare demo) RON HOLDEN - I'LL FORGIVE AND FORGET - CHALLENGE (look-a-like reissue) ----------------------- Please click here ----------------------- Thanks for looking! Benji ALL AUCTIONS HAVE SCANS AND AUDIO CLIPS!
  20. Bob, did you send this record abroad, e.g. Europe? From what I understand it's not possible to send items insured to and from USA?
  21. To be honest couldn't care less if discussion of live Ebay auctions will be banned or not. 1.000's of Soul records sell on Ebay every day and maybe 2-3 of them are discussed here so that's hardly a threat to all you bargain hunters out there is it? But if ban means we also can get rid of all those dull-boring-timewasting-tedious-notfunny "look at that tosser trying to sell a 5 quid pressing for a ton on Ebay"-or-"look at that stupid misleading item description"-threads I fully agree
  22. Marc, that might have been your point but not Callum's point:
  23. Pointless thread as this topic had been discussed to death before. Whoever thinks that any ultra-rarities/big titles listed in the R&B/Soul section* would sell cheaper because they weren't discussed on SS doesn't really live on planet earth Callum, I can understand that you're pi**ed off and frustrated but don't blame any on-board discussion. Blame Ebay for their worldwide range and availability. * of course I know there are still many bargains misplaced in other sections but these bargains aren't discussed on-board before they ended, are they?
  24. Green Onions is Byron Lee & Dragonaires
