  1. It's a test press or something for the 70's UK reissue on Inferno.
  2. As no deal finalized, it's now on Ebay.
  3. My copies of Masquaders - Same thing and M.B.S. - Another day have been covered up at one time in the past, both have the typical sellotapes in the run-out. Wonder who played them covered up? Have a copy of Mike & Ray - if only you knew signed by them. A few years ago I bought a copy of the Jimmy Witherspoon - Spoon in London on Ebay, described as WOL on cover. Turned out said WOL reads "Best wishes, Jimmy Witherspoon", nice one!
  4. Hi Derek, thanks for the info. "Hello" sounds quite nice if you try to ignore the horrible scratches I think I'm gonna to put it on my "want-it-not-now-but-later-list" I was quite surprised to see they had two releases on that label. I mean, label screams "very rare" if just look at it doesn't it? I wonder which one came first. You can't tell by the cat. no. "another day" is #5822 and "just to say hello" is #12737.
  5. Just came across this: The M.B.S. - Face Facts / Just say hello - B-Jet I have their other release on the same label ("Another day") and was wondering what this one here is like? Is it Soul? Northern? Anyone with a soundfile maybe? Any info much appreciated! Thanks! Benji
  6. To me it sounds like a different mix, vocals more prominent than on the LP. Which is a shame as the brilliant backing gets a bit 'lost' if you know what I mean. The LP take is definitely the one to play at a do.
  7. Val, sorry no. It's italian only isn't it?
  8. For sale: Billy Jones - I'll keep holding on/I'm the one - Decca (Germany) - £50 £45 Lesser known german/dutch only mid 70s double sider. This is the rarer german release with the nice looking picture cover. "I'll keep holding on" is a great mid to uptempo dancer whereas the other side is a cool laid back funky one. Check the sound clips! Reasonable priced, have seen it listed for £75-100! Record is EX, please really really fine. Sleeve VG, see scan. Postage: Germany £2.30 Worldwide £3.10 'Signed for' postage is £1.90 extra Paypal only, as gift preferred. Please PM if interested Thanks! Benji
  9. Four randomly picked sleeves from me. I think you don't see them that often do you? 1 german, 1 canadian, 2 US.
  10. Even if that's true a nice colourful issue of Silky Hargraves would look fab in a Dearborn sleeve, wouldn't it?
  11. Anyone remember the stuff John Manship auctioned after the big West Coast find? Many records were still in their original mailers. Didn't he auction a Ray Pollard still in its Shrine mailer?
  12. Roger, that Tetragrammaton sleeve, nice one. Haven't seen it before. I once bought a shitty pop record on Dearborn just for the sleeve, record was 99c, postage to Germany was like $7.00. Saw the sleeve and knew I had to have it. How desperate is that? And that sleeve is filed away for at least 10 years because I don't have any Dearborn records to put in it. Anyone with a cheap Silky Hargreaves for me?
  13. Agree with Kev and Bob it's a great record. But it still puzzles me that I couldn't find more info about the 20th Century release. Loads of links to mp3 downloads but hardly any copies for sale. Is it that obscure or am I just unadept to using a search engine?
  14. Sass - I only wanted to love you/Do it - 20th Century 2318 Lovely stepper. Was wondering what's the current going rate? Tried Google but couldn't find anything. Only found the local label issue on San Francisco INS which has a different flip and seems to be worth about $100. Anyone knows how much it's worth? Don't want to sell, am just curious... TIA Benji
  15. I fail to see the comedy sale. A boot of Terrible Tom sells for $17. That's less than 10 quid, isn't it? Where's the comedy in it?
  16. Thanks, the cheque's in the post Anyway, list updated. Can do specials deals for multiple purchases.

  21. Thanks for your valuable input! Tried to gather all informations about different presses and run-out groove details. My theory is that they used tapes 1823 and 1824 for the testpresses but went for earlier takes (1821 and 1822) for the final release. It would make sense to me tho I don't have any facts to back up. The matrix # are all over the place. e.g. Chalky's Jay & Shufflers matches test press # yet it's a different take. Or Flynny's WD has the same numbers but on the wrong sides. Don't know what to make out of it ... Testpress Benji: run-out on "always be mine" side: CR-1823 16/9/64 ES (looks like a signature) run-out on "when the lights are low" side: CR-1824 ES (signature again) Note: no pressing plant stamp on either side Testpress Sepia: run-out on "always be mine" side: CR-1823 Vinyl issue credited to The Shufflers GarethX: Always Be Mine: CR-1823 in the runout. CR-1824-X-1 (crossed out). Label reads CR-1821 When The Lights Are Low: CR-1824 in the runout. Label reads CR-1822 Shufflers WD Flynny: ABM has CR-1824-X scratched in (label states CR-1821) WTLAL has CR-1823 scratched in (label states CR-1822) Both sides have the Nashville Matrix machine stamp as well. Jay and the Shufflers issue Chalky: Always Be Mine Label states CR-1823. Scratched in the run out is CR-1824 X When The Lights Are Low label states CR-1824. Scratched in the run out is CR - 1823 just before the CR is a very faint 45.

Used to have it on 45 until I got myself a copy of the album. Don't know if it had plays "on the scene" but it was on an old Kent compilation so it might had some at one time.
