I agree with Marc. American Forces had their own supplies, rarely bought anything at local shops. NIghtlife was something different as loads of bars and clubs catered to GI audiences in cities with larger US Army barracks. BTW, anyone got a cheep Al Gardner on french Googa Mooga for sale? Now it's official it's a bootleg can't be worth anything can it?

The Reggae fake bidders (Carlos and more recently 1 or two of his mates from what I understand) is mentally ill and thinks he's on a crusade. He's so determined to ruin each and every Ska and early Reggae auction on Ebay, he's got literally dozens if not 100s of different accounts, using fake addresses and stolen credit card details.

You can only block bidders with less than zero feedback. But as Ebay doesn't allow neg feedback for buyers it's impossible to get a feedback rate of less than zero unless you're selling stuff. Furthermore Ebay can't be arsed about finding out who the fake bidders are.

Superb video. thanks for posting! the backing band is amazing. They're so cool . They look kinda bored yet they're laying out one of the greatest rhythms in the history of soul music. (Archie Bell & his Drells are disappointing IMO)

Just giving this a little bump. Surprised it's still here thought it would fly out immediately at that price. Seems like folks are scared by the "minor sound distraction"? It's really not that heavy. I'd just rather undergrade than overgrade a record. Can send uncompressed full quality .wmv file if needed?

There are infact two versions. Can't remember the details but I think one press got a raised "x" or something in the run out the other doesn't. Both on same label, same design. Search the site, there was at least one thread about it in the last few years. (Not idea about current value. )

I don't think it was vastly underpriced. Last three copies I'd seen were 25, 30 and 36 quid. I'd also seen the $200+ one on Ebay, that was clearly a bidding war. The next copy went fore something like $45.

I'm not a big fan of Teddy Randazzo but always liked his mid 60s big city soul productions. The production he did on the Anthony & Imperials tracks is awesome. Especially considering the fact he was just in his late 20s then. One of my alltime favourite Randazzo productions is Little Anthonys "Lost without you" (*) on the "payin our dues" album. The beat ballad of all beat ballads! (*) same song that Teddy released by himself in 64 on DCP 45. But much much much much much much better!
