Candy Carroll (aka Carolyn Franklin) did a great version of Hank Williams Your Cheatin' Heart on Double L. One of my favorite records. In other news: How about weird soulish country done by a strange c&w singer? A strange and wonderful record for those of us who like weird 45s.
  2. There's a FB group dedicated to cheapies here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/THECHEAP45RPMRECORDGROUP/ Not for 70's and up tho.
  3. It reminds me of something else... But don't know what.
  4. You can still sell them for £15 each, but not quickly. The last one sold on discogs was March this year. It sold for £20 (NM). Previously it has sold for as little as £10. There are currently eight copies for sale: https://www.discogs.com/marketplace?release_id=1919529
  5. ^This is true. I'm constantly amazed by the choices my buyers make and have learned that everything should be listed. Guessing what will be in demand is pointless, just list everything on discogs and forget about relisting and paying fees for items that are unsold. As a bonus, if you are a collector, the discogs database will grow and details about different records (and prices) will be easier to find.
  6. You don't need a gadget, just cables. At least if your amplifier has a tape-out or similar.

Some more on discogs: https://www.discogs.com/label/130318-Psycho-3 https://www.discogs.com/label/184215-Psycho-Records-8
  8. Still looking.
  9. You need to see the track in connection with the whole album. The whole album has the same style. Here's a piece of a discussion on the old soulfuldetroit forums (I've anonymised the user names):

Isn't cf basically just a one man project? I seem to remember someone mentioning that on another forum. He probably can't keep up with servers and bandwith as the site gets more popular.

I might have bought one or two of those...
  12. I could take a look if you want.
  13. Just around the corner then... I've sent two Wav files but your inbox refused the third one. Probably too big (44,5 MB).
  14. I can provide scans and soundfiles if that's enough. I'm in Norway so not very tempted to lend them to you.
  15. Invictus pressed most releases at five different plants. You can't do that in small quantity. But since Lucifer 45s are known to be priced low there's probably boxes of these in someones basement waiting for the prices to rise.
  16. How much does it sell for these days?

Open the file and save it as comma separated .csv. Those are just plain text so you'll probably be able to upload it. Excel sheets can contain macros that can be used to infect your computer.
  18. When I looked into it a few years ago the story was that most of the material was released by G.C. later, but not on Invictus.
  19. I've made a note of 9127 being a testpress of Freda Payne - You're Mine / Stay With Me. It was a few years ago so don't know where I might have seen it. And there's the infamous George Clinton album called The Black Vampire (ST9815) that never got released. It made it as far as the Schwann Record Catalog.
  20. Is 9131 Chairmen of the board Elmo James / I'm on my way to a better place Yes. We exchanged PMs. It was the same title as above.
  21. I'll see if I can get a scan done tonight. The Lucifer album isn't unlistenable but it's not really soul as we know it. I think this is the Chairmen 45 I mentioned earlier. Will check tonight.
  22. Sales history on discogs suggests $75-$85.

The subdirectory on that site refers to "Jason". Maybe Jason Perlmutter?
  24. Looking for a nice copy of Shades of Time / Fleming Williams - Can You Dig It / Poverty Child on Better World.
  25. WANT: Shades Of Time - Can You Dig It (Better World)
