  1. Allmusic.com has a good article on The Laddins: https://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&s...n6jqeal04xg7~T1
  2. I think he has more than one username this time. Check this: /index.php?showtopic=26066
  3. Link to the item: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...rnedZ300QQfviZ1 The seller is from Belgium
  4. Nice ! Thanks !
  5. Not "underground" but maybe a "subculture" ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subculture
  6. I got a copy of this in a lot I bought a while back. I hadn't heard it before, it was really a nice surprise. Both sides are good on this one
  7. Mine is no. 465 Maybe the first 500 will eventually be more worth
  8. Nothing. And it's really starting to worry me If that package doesn't arrive soon......
  9. He is usually found here: www.raresoulforum.co.uk
  10. Why are you starting this topic again ? You already have a thread on this subject that you started 5 days ago /index.php?showtopic=25465 Edit: Mike was faster than me
  11. Are these really that hard to find, or am I just being unlucky ?
  12. Count Yates - Chimpanzee, NM £30 (slight warp Not Affecting Play, and a couple of scuffs) paypal accepted, PM me. Update: *SOLD*
  13. I know that some sellers (who previously only accepted bidpay) put up several big garage items recently on auction only accepting money orders. Only the most sought after rarities got sold because buyers couldn't be bothered to go through the hassle and expenses of getting money orders issued the old fashioned way. Sorry to hear about your paypal trouble though.
  14. there was a label scan drifting around on the net a while back. Apparently James Brown was released upon the Iranians before the revolution.
  15. The rarest of two non-existent will be the one that is rarely discussed. Or maybe there is a non-existent cut that people only read about and never talk about. Now that would surely be the rarest of them all.
  16. Can't follow you there mate, are you saying nothing is ever unknown ? I think I was thinking that if some mongolian pressed a small quantity of soul records in the late 60's but lost all but one in a fire just before he died. If his relatives put theat record in a box somewhere and forgot about it how would you, or anyone, know ? just theoretically of course
  17. All I know is where this thread goes. Whenever a topic like this comes up most people post up replies about US releases and well known "one off's" that often turn out to be no such thing. The others talk about euro and south american pressings. Then there's one or two mentions of iranian james brown 45s and maybe thai/phillipino pressings. The point is that practically nobody actually devotes their time to seriously collecting this stuff. Or maybe I'm just being grumpy
  18. You must be thinking about Worlds Rarest known Soul Record Not many collectors here know about stuff from non-western countries (and their rarity).
  19. I used to think it was kinda ok so I tried to dig deeper to look for the real gems. All I could find post 1994 was crap
  20. This is the only definition of crossover that does not confuse an outsider like me. The later "definitions" of crossover should be given better names of their own.
  21. Yes Brett, that's the one. If you would like to sell it I'm buying
  22. I have to admit to being a label collector I have almost finished the Invictus/Hot Wax/Music Merchant group and am now looking at three other labels. (Still looking for some if anyone got some of the tougher ones up for sale..... like Brenda Holloway on Music Merchant) There are some tunes I've heard that I probably would've missed if not trying to complete the label. And it's great for later reference.
  23. I've been playing some gospel Mighty Sons Jesus Delivered Daniel.mp3
  24. Apart from soul/funk/r&b : Jazz, mostly female vocal. Rock, from japanese neo-psych to norwegian noise-music and beyond. I mostly find the traditional bands too boring. The music needs to have some kind of groove... or soul. Electronic music, blip-blop style. 80's synth and industrial. And most of all electro-acoustic styles. Classical, all kinds.
  25. Awful 70's rock. Lots of energy but no soul.
