  1. I used to work part-time as a postie when I was a teenager. One of my work mates used to open up (plastic) envelopes from film processing companies to remove one or two unused rolls of film. Then he would reseal the package with his lighter and deliver it to the recipient. He only did this when there were at least four or five rolls in the package so it would look like the lab had made a mistake.
  2. I'm not really surprised, it was time for the semi-regular downtime. Just hope it gets back up soon.
  3. Always wondered why you didn't have a website Good luck
  4. How about a soundclip of the flip ?
  5. Whenever someone would recirculate vinyl it was melted down and mixed into virgin vinyl. This mix would bring the price down, but qualitywise it was not a good choice. I doubt major labels would use this method.
  6. Jesse James - rosco gordon - 13835 refosoul
  7. Robert Lee has been refered to as the man behind Lost Weekend Records. 101 Robert Lee & The Esquisites - The bridge of love / (inst.) 101 General Lee & The Space Army Band - We did it baby pt 1 / pt 2 101 The Lost Weekend - The bridge of love / (inst.) 102 The Lost Weekend - Trouble / Little black child This is it as far as I know. #101 was recycled again and again. And it wouldn't surprise me if two of them are the same recording with different artist credits. BTW, if anyone has a copy of #102 for sale I'd be interested in buying.
  8. Rock Steady - marvels - frm 13802 refosoul
  9. I have a spare of Sugar Hill "Slow Down" on Washington for sale. Store stock, but with a small bubble that does not affect play. Ghetto pressing and print (on TL side the label has dirt or possibly ink spots) $100 + shipping soundclip slow down soundclip that's love
  10. I've kept on recommending this to people whenever I see it mentioned. Great 45 !

You could check to see if eyeball productions (the people behind The R&B Indies) are interested. Or if that guy on SDF, BankhouseDave(?), he's been doing some publishing of autobiographies.
  12. Most of the time it doesn't work that way. You get less bids on high starting prices because the potential bargain is not available (there's usually no bargain with reserves either, but the buyer can hope for a low reserve). And also, eBay charges more if you start off on a high price.
  13. The Sugar Hill 45 will be ending in a few hours. Still cheap price for this nice sweet soul / funk doublesider.
  14. Rare 45: Sugar Hill on Washington, one sweet and one funky tune A nice northern (?) mgm demo with low start bid And a norwegian girl version of a Gainsbourgh tune Come on, start the fight
  15. Still looking .....
  16. let him go - don hollinger - mercede 13250 refosoul
  17. Vocals on "Don't hurt me no more" by "Micheal Smith". There's probably thousands with that name, but could it be Michael Smith of Smith Connection (later on motown as Lovesmith) ?
  18. green power - sir sidney wallace - zudan 13121 refosoul
  19. I hate having unused credit with dealers, so I bought this record and it arrived today: Joey Gillmore - Girl your best friend done took your place / Blind man - saadia Quite nice
  20. The album is called Think Of The Children and is on Hot Wax. Usually sells mintish on ebay for $25-$40. Good album, well worth the money. Satisfaction Unlimited was based on members from The Satisfactions who recorded for Smash and Lionel.
  21. True. But it wouldn't need to be bigger, different groups could be separated like this: Sandpipers..................(1) a nice song/another nice song ..................................(1) a very nice song/a not so nice song ..................................(2) killer tune/rare as rocking horse doo-doo This way it would be easy to separate them. It would need more editing than the present versions though...
  22. A bit like Little Alfred, but with different backing ?
