  1. No probs , blues i can use but not at northern nights, the Burnside track in my opinion is garbage.
  2. I agree with you why would you want to hear it on the scene on a northern night , they are totally different types of music i love Robert Cray but it's music to listen to at home or live where the man is sensational, all is was trying to get at was there was no comparison to the RL Burnside track and any Robert Cray music that i've heard.
  3. Sounds a lot like by an uptempo tune by someone like Robert Cray? , obviously you have never listened to any Robert Cray material .

  5. Bunnies in Rotherham was another shop that was not bad for buying Shermans and Levis etc bit pricy though that was situated in the Imperial Buildings. You could also pick up a few things at the sports shop Danny Williams remember getting a Slazenger jumper from there .
  6. If your on about Rotherham the Wakefield Famous Army Stores was next to Kendrick Fieldsend and they sold Levis, Martens plus obviously surplus army gear, as for Sheffield i think there was quite a few one as i remember was on the Wicker or there abouts. Just remembered another Wakefield Army stores in Rotherham that one was across from Woolworths think it's a phone shop now.

  8. Maybe i'm alone on this one but i prefer Maxines version of this to the Ray Gant version, she seem to get the real emotion out of the song. Love to hear the Eddie Parker version though.
  9. If the people there enjoyed it what has it got to do with anybody that did not attend ?.

  14. From what i've heard of Jasmine most of it is very good and uplifting too and the girl can sing her version of the the Terry Callier classic is the poorest track i've heard by her. Love her version of the Little Walter/ Mitty Collier classic My Babe.
  15. I might have been wrong i thought only one was held there and the council said the place did not have a licence to hold allnighters there or maybe any type of functions.

  21. As someone who has always enjoyed reading about soul music nearly as much as listening i,ve subscribed to all the following mags Blues And Soul , Black Music , Black Echoes , Shades Of Soul, SKM , and the great Voices From The Shadows and InThe Basement am i the only one that since getting on the internet my reading of mags has totally gone, i know most of the above are now defunct but even if they were not i could not see me still subscribing to any other than Shadows i just find that all the knowledge i need can be found on the net. Am i alone in this has the net killed the Soul mag. I have even culled all my old copies of everything except my old copies of Voices.
