  1. Thanks, I was thinking of going round and asking but did not think it would achieve anything they were OK when they called but It seems strange and only the postman really knows. My hands do have identifiable features due to operations but unfortunately they did not show on the photo shown to me but the door looked a different colour to mine even the lady who's parcel was missing said that.
  2. I had a near neighbour knock on my door Sunday afternoon saying a parcel had been delivered by the Royal Mail to my address, which it had not,she also said the driver had not tried to deliver it to her address because they had been in all day, I explained to her the parcel was not at my address. 2 hours later her partner turned up and asked the same question and showed me the proof of delivery on his phone, which showed my address pinpointed on the map and a hand taking the parcel in but no number on the door or any discerning features to identify my property and definitely not me taking the parcel. Has anyone any idea what action if any I should take because I am worried that the neighbours think I have stolen the item.
  3. Are you the promotion person ?
  4. Why do you seem to want an endorsement for type of music these guys are producing, if it makes them successful and happy good luck but the music they produce is not Soul music in the way most on here perceive it.
  5. Good to hear that this cover version will have an impact on the rare soul scene.
  6. It's hardly keeping the music relevant it is taking Northern Soul into tribute type shows territory. I will stick with the real deal.
  7. This record has nothing to do with the progression or keeping the music alive, it is a attempt to make money on the back of a Northern classic and an attempt to get people on here to get the record on to the BBC 2 playlist.
  8. There is still loads of stuff out there I have never heard or own to keep me going for the rest of my life, I suppose if your taste in soul is mainly northern maybe most of the stuff is out there ? but my taste in soul is all sorts so al is never going to be needed to get my fix still loads to hear and be amazed at for me.
  9. From "Moses Smith YouTube" channel. Do not think it is the philly guy.
  10. Just more over saturation of football, more games never make anything better usually the opposite, players run in to the ground by club and country, I know they are well paid and molly coddled but they are also performers and entertainers which leads to a poorer spectacle for all concerned in the long run. Less is better in my opinion and not all these bloated Uefa competitions.
  11. The ones I have heard are good but they are not real, there is topics on here daily which are usually started by "who was " or any "pictures of " because they were real people and people want to know the people behind the record.
  12. Think we know how songs begin and most singers are then putting the emotion into the recording I also know that these records lyrics are heartfelt and are good records but what could have been a great project was marred by the use of fake voices in my opinion.
  13. Ike definitely is marmite, but I love his stuff and still play his albums, his version of " Walk On By " is a masterpiece to my ears.
  14. The human emotion of a singer is what makes it soul and that is what makes the hairs on my neck stand up and amazes me the depth a fellow human can get in to a song. However good an al record sounds it is fake and devoid of the main element a real singer. If this is the future of soul music it is reassuring that the back catalogue is vast and still new sounds to explore.
  15. Ben Turpin, peter Dick was the highway man Then again whoever managed to sell that record got away with Highway Robbery
  16. Ben Turpin must have laid that one down lol.
  17. Loads of people seem to be excepting it, strange thing about this stuff is everything has got a human element except the vocals how bizarre is that soul records without a soul singer (how does that work ) which are not instrumental.
  18. Thought people might be interested enough to hear from the horses mouth. For real.
  19. The story of these records is told by Alan Day on the Dean Anderson show dated 31st of October 2024 posted on Soul Source by Chalky, the last hour contains the segment and all the info.
  20. No live appearances anytime soon I would imagine. Unless they go down the hologram route. "Keep soul music real"
  21. At least it's still standing unlike most of Sheffield where the plaque is sited.
  22. Why not take up the task yourself ? as the guys in Sheffield have done. Dave was a well known figure in Sheffield as well as a Soul fanatic also a film buff too and was director of the independent Anvil cinema in Sheffield for a time. So the plaque in Sheffield is worthy in my opinion.
