The news of the death of Bobby has left me feeling really sad , not since the passing of Marvin has an artists death left me feeling this way .
R.I.P. Bobby , your music will live forever.
If that is the true story behind the record at least some good came out of it . Usually love the Big City Beat Ballads but the vocals on this are shocking in my opinion.
Shirleys finest moment for me , love the way it builds and the way she lets it go at the end.

First record I ever bought by Johnnie was '' Changes'' and I have been a fan ever since . All Johnnies albums contain a few masterpieces . I was going to put a couple of tracks up off youtube but where do you start. His son Floyd has also cut some good stuff too.
The link on Dave Turners post is working, or it is for me. If the link doesn't work go to the official Van McCoy site click on discography and 60s and look for the song Hold On and press the note to play song.
I don,t think it is a Van McCoy song and the year not sure but it sounds mid sixties. The singers voice is so familiar it is driving me crazy but I have never been much cop at recognising anything but the obvious singers.
