  3. Nearly every record Tyrone made on Dakar and Columbia would qualify
  4. Great article really enjoyed reading it . Thanks to Dave and Lorraine for your efforts and to the Andantes for their heavenly vocals.
  5. The news of the death of Bobby has left me feeling really sad , not since the passing of Marvin has an artists death left me feeling this way . R.I.P. Bobby , your music will live forever.
  6. Ask The Lonely , not only Motowns finest for me also one of the greatest soul records of all time too .
  7. If that is the true story behind the record at least some good came out of it . Usually love the Big City Beat Ballads but the vocals on this are shocking in my opinion.
  8. Love this - Sandra Phillips https://youtu.be/cIenjNEWqEk
  9. Thanks for the heads up I would have missed this

The pub in Rotherham is the Bridge Inn.
  15. First record I ever bought by Johnnie was '' Changes'' and I have been a fan ever since . All Johnnies albums contain a few masterpieces . I was going to put a couple of tracks up off youtube but where do you start. His son Floyd has also cut some good stuff too.
  16. Thanks for posting Mark , a great listen .
  17. Agree on that one Steve. It is great when records of that calibre hit paydirt .
  18. Love this from Willie Hutch . https://youtu.be/RomJgCFUBbo
  19. This one gets me Bettye Lavette - Your Turn To Cry https://youtu.be/tC2EEySECD8
  20. Try pressing the play button a few times it does not always play first time
  21. The link on Dave Turners post is working, or it is for me. If the link doesn't work go to the official Van McCoy site click on discography and 60s and look for the song Hold On and press the note to play song.
  22. I don,t think it is a Van McCoy song and the year not sure but it sounds mid sixties. The singers voice is so familiar it is driving me crazy but I have never been much cop at recognising anything but the obvious singers.
  23. No answer as yet , loads of views and I'm surprised no one has put us out of our misery. I f**king hate this sort of thing
