  1. A spadger is a name for a cock of a different nature in these parts
  2. Don't know the reason for the name of Spuggies but your guess seems very plausible
  3. The three I quoted where names learned when I was growing up in Yorkshire , the Stormcock seems to be a name used widely the other two maybe regional. The reason the Yellowhammer is called a Scribbling Lark is because of the pattern on the birds egg.
  4. Don,t know if these alternative bird names are just local to Yorkshire but here are a few. Scribbling Lark - Yellow Hammer Storm Cock - Mistle Thrush Spuggies - Sparrows
  5. Its also great to put names to all the tracks now because I never had the inlay card with all the details , knew a few and sussed most out but a few were still elusive .
  6. Thanks for that John had this tape and I lost it during a clear out , some great stuff on this
  7. https://youtu.be/xIf_wKWmkiI
  8. At least the guy is honest with his descriptions (you know what they are) any fool who then thinks they are buying anything other than a carver must be stupid.
  9. Can you tell me what a soul suit is please . As a Rotherham resident for all my 59 years the only tailor I remember on the market was a guy who made suits for a shop called Lees on the inside market.
  10. Toilet air fresheners J.J. Barnes Real Humdinger
  11. The general theme of the ad is fairly good in me opinion , the enthusiasm for the music and dancing comes through but why as many others have said does the stupid fashion sense of the 70s have to take the leading role giving the impression that everyone who likes NS dresses like this.
  12. Her sing ain't too bad in a karaoke sort of way. She's cute to my eyes but if you are scoring with better looking females than her more power to ya
  13. '' New Breed Kinda Woman'' seems to be missing .
  14. Maybe it is not the original , aren't a lot of these tv ads sound tracks re-recorded to sound like the original which cannot be used for licencing/ budget reasons that was the reason Marvins I heard It Through The Grapevine was not the original used in the famous Levis ad.
  15. If you are not happy with it send it back and get a refund , this problem will probably always irk you about this record even with a discount and as it its no rarity just keep looking till a better copy turns up.
  16. Not only did he sound good he looked at least a decade younger.
  17. Great selection Chalky, as a Lp buyer mainly, its great to see some tracks getting a airing on here .
  18. Someones uploaded a Tony Christie video on here what do you think of that
  19. Where could you sell these fakes however good they were ? .
  20. What is silly is thinking anyone would go to the trouble of trying to produce counterfeits of really rare records and try to pass them off as the real thing, people have too much knowledge now to fall for those scams anymore. If you are going to make boots and the like just do what has been done since the early 70s and beyond, make them to supply the demand that is already there , theres no need to fool anyone it is still a lucrative market just look on ebay loads of the stuff and just like counterfeit clothes ,etc. people buy it because its cheap or they do not know any better.
  21. Joe Simons recording '' When '' is a steal on the track to my ears , don't know the other track though. ,
  22. I'll second that
  23. Have not listened to any of the shows yet , i'll pick them up on catch up but it's great to hear that everyone on here has given these programmes so much praise .
  24. Probably still pi**ed after yesterdays result.
