  1. Are you aware that the Aquarian and the MGM are different mixes , the Aquarian version has some kids singing the chorus on it. It also got a release on the Boblo label as well .
  2. Watched it last night before it was took off and I cannot see what the fuss is all about, 1 and a half minutes of a crap record danced to by about 6 lads and lasses watched on by a bemused totps audience.
  3. This guy i would imagine also off Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Benson_(saxophonist
  4. Thanks for the advice buts it costing me a small fortune in bird seed so I could not afford a pet as well . I will stick to cleaning up around the feed stations daily , it seems to be working
  5. I like to feed the birds but encouraging rodents to a free meal on the floor I will give the nijer a miss , feeding sunflower seeds and they seem ok on that. Nijer is a plant native of Afghanistan I believe Dave, is that correct ? Just looked it up a native of Ethiopia.
  6. They come to come my garden in droves up to 20 at a time , I have had to stop feeding nijer seeds because even though they are beautiful birds their eating manners leave much to be desired, more on the floor than eaten .
  7. It did an hour ago Pete , non of the pictures in the topic are showing to me at the moment I am getting a 404 ERROR. ps I did say it was hardly a great photo
  8. Hardly a great photo by the standards on here but this was took in my back garden with my phone , a young Goldfinch enjoying sunflower seeds.
  9. Nice selection of records , and I love how we define Modern Soul records, whichby all sense and purpose are 40 years old last night I had a Robert Cray session played off spotify through my Bose speaker .
  10. R I P ROD Once saw a band advertised playing at a local working mens club in the mid seventies , thought they sounded like a soul band type group but decided to give it a miss the band was Johnnie Wilders Chicago Heatwave who later became just Heatwave .
  11. That playlist sounds like one these Northern Soul cds that will be appearing around November for Christmas , some of those records played were overplayed oldies in the seventies.
  12. Got admit Pete Bluetooth seems to be one of the most annoying things I have come across but a bit of perseverance usually pays off . Good luck .
  13. Bluetooth can be a bit temperamental I would assume you managed to pair your 2 devices if so give it another try .
  14. Bluetooth headphones Pete ?
  15. Most of the music I play at home is now streamed mainly from Spotify . Cannot remember the last time I played any vinyl my collection is in limbo, and I am also finding that my cds are gathering dust now. I find it so easier to stream music, I cannot be bothered to go through the f**k about with vinyl especially, all I do now is stream off the laptop to my Bose speaker and that's enough for me at this moment in time. Technology rules OKEH !
  16. Phillip Mitchell is on the CD '' You Better Believe It ! '' a Warner Music UK CD from 2004 . The O'Jays track is on the '' Best Of Northern Soul Volume 1 '' Goldmine GSCD 187
  17. Talking a lot and saying nowt comes to mind.
  18. Yes mate , cd only.
  19. Tammi Terrell
  20. Could you post up some YouTube clips of Northern Soul U.S. style I would be interested to know what type of soul music this is , I know what Southern Soul is and sounds like . Never once in my 60 years have I heard the terminology referred to any type of soul music in the U.S. , Northern Soul just been a title given to a wide spectrum of uptempo soul music played in the UK.
  21. The one who went missing looked like he had a swollen eye , probably went off to get attention , no subs in those days
  22. https://www.45cat.com/label/power-exchange
  23. Pleasant enough record but more of a bride and groom wedding smooch song than a soul record to my ears .
  24. When this comes on it always reminds me of a Gilbert O'Sullivan record .
