  1. Thanks Steve. Happy New Year to you. I do not take photographs but I would encourage soulsourcers to feed the birds , it is so rewarding, in my urban garden I have managed to see Goldfinch, Robin , various Tits , 1 Blackcap amongst others and also the sight of a Sparrowhawk swooping for the Goldfinches It is well worth the expense. ,
  2. Keep up the good work , the wildlife photographs on here are stunning and a credit to all .
  3. No idea , here's the back cover you may have more idea.
  4. The CD with the added tracks.
  5. Sounds right , Mars label I think. I plead ignorance my lord buying a bootleg .
  6. Do not know if I am barking up the wrong tree here but I have a CD of Deons material which in includes Someday The Sun Will Shine plus all the tracks posted above.
  7. Think by the great videos posted Ronnie was very underated and I have enjoyed the videos posted
  8. John Manship hit the nail on the head above saying if you want to make sure you are buying originals buy from reputable dealers , you may pay a bit more but better that than only to find out later you bought a boot. As for the buying of boots for home listening with the amount of legit re- released vinyl and thousands of great CD compilations there is just no need.
  9. That was the point I was trying to make in my post earlier , anybody buying these boots thinking they are getting an original must be stupid. They are buying them to play at home and know what they are getting like most of people buying boots in the seventies.
  10. I might be missing the point here but the bootlegs/counterfeits in question have not been made to deceive anybody, a thousand pound record for a tenner ! they are just made to make a quick buck off the returnees or newly converted to the scene. The main gripe that seems to come through is that people are then having the audacity to go out and them play the boots at northern soul nights. Bootlegs have always been a part of this scene but because of Ebay and the likes it is more prevalent.
  11. Seems that Ruffin liked the name The Fellas as said in a post above he used it as a name for his backing group and according to the article above wanted to call the ex temps group the same. No links though to the The Fellows though on Solid Hit.
  12. This might clear the Ruffin link to the Fellows up. https://soulfuldetroit.com/showthread.php?18844-The-Fellows-60-s-Detroit-Group
  13. Prefer the George Carrow version myself but it seems a strange song non of the versions singers seem to be able to sing the song naturally , as someone said above they all seem to be trying to hard.
  14. It is the same track Ady .
  15. That is correct.
  16. This track was cut on Revilot by J.J.Barnes , I would assume you would know that though. The Limitations seems better to me .
  17. It is the flip to the classic '' Don,t be sore at me '' always like the Parliaments version but the Joni Wilson is good also. George Clinton recorded it again with the funk ensemble who were Parliament nothing like the original though .
  18. Just purchased a copy of Respect the biography written by David Ritz on Aretha , not read any yet to give a review but for £2 it has got to be worth a punt , a very thick book which should take a good few days to get through. Still quite a few In the shop i purchased my copy and they also do click and collect on their website if anyone is interested.
  19. I live and learn ! one here . https://www.soulfulkindamusic.net/ronn.htm
  20. Sorry do not know how to post links on tablet , just put Ronn Records in Google and loads of discographies come up for that label.
  21. The Ronn release should be by Carolyn Montgomery and was issued under the wrong name as Harolyn a typo. All discographies show Carolyn.
  22. Sounds like the Spice Girls piss take group on comic relief in the 90s featuring French And Saunders and Kathy Burke .
  23. 1st two sound like a reggae instro of the Banana Song to my untrained ears ?
  24. Totally agree Chalky , Towanda/Gloria really spew the lyrics out with angst , The Ohio Players version also lacks that certain something it just seems to be going through the motions.
