  1. Or maybe the £50 limited edition that comes with a letter of provenance , a £10 record tarted up .
  2. Great picture Steve , the Robin looks in immaculate condition , the one that comes in to my garden looks a dirty chap his/her white plumage is filthy, it will use the feeders and is well fed but it seems adverse to using the bird bath.
  3. Great , some I did not know too
  4. That would still seem scarce to me in the grand scheme of things , of course not extremely rare. I would assume though that 300 copies would be enough records in circulation for it to be an overplayed disc in the hands of certain djs.
  5. Great box set though , I still play it to this day , a different cd for every mood I may be in on the day The genius of Marvin !
  6. Thanks Simon a bit of a bugbear of mine so much so that I avoid a lot of threads with multiple repeated vids. It is easy to quote without the vids even I can do it !
  7. My thoughts exactly, most people there just for the love of the music and no one playing up to the camera . Today seems more about the social side of things and the music to some seems secondary .
  8. Things like that are more about the spirit of Christmas than what we usually see , the ladies children will be made up and thrilled . Good job well done Pete to you and the other staff involved . Graham
  9. Best male vocalist ? I could not pick a favourite top 10 never mind the best of the lot. We are so blessed to be lovers of this great music that there is so many to choose from and of varying styles.
  10. Linda Jones for me , she nailed this one .
  11. They will be ok There as tough as Old Boots !
  12. The collection looks good , Steve The greatest magazine produced in my opinion it encompassed all types of soul -- modern , crossover , northern and everything else in between and wrote in a professional and informative way where the love and enthusiasm of the music shone through. Used to love the Jan Barker column his musical taste echoes mine , also Tims column was great too and lastly Rods articles which turned me on to some great music rare and the common but unplayed. The magazine is sadly missed by me and many others I would say , I would still subscribe today if it was still in print. Graham
  13. An earlier thread about this record .
  14. A great opening post that will get people on here salivating for more information .
  15. Was a bit disappointed myself , a great start black and white Miracles , Stevie etc.. then it went veered off a bit. Edwin Starr at the end was great as usual, pity about Martha Reeves though she sounded out of breath.
  16. Sorry about that Gogger it is on Yesteryear not Pick .
  17. sorry it is on Yesteryear .
  18. Just an heads up to a programme about to start at 7 pm on Yesteryear TV - Motown at the BBC , Graham

  20. £20 a single and about the same for an LP and you know I have some great records that I still go back to today that give me great enjoyment. I have never collected records from a collecting sense just acquired records along the way for enjoyment . Cds only are my only purchases now.
  21. Yeah , had another listen myself to the Lenny Williams cut nowt like the track in question only the title ! sorry .
  22. Could it be a tad speeded up edit of Lenny Williams '' Problem Solver '' on ABC ?
  23. Ben is at it again , coming to a venue near to everyone - the garb may look a bit different on the aged and overweight though ! https://www.bensherman.co.uk/clothing/t-shirts
  24. Vinyl I do not know , but it is available on Cd - it is on the - Everybody Loves A Good Time ! : The Best Of Major Lance . Copies here at Discogs https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/675493?ev=rb
  25. The young want to listen to modern music and hang around with people of their own age not hang around with the older generations . If the young are to get involved with soul music I would imagine they will create their own scene and listen to a more contempary type of soul music and not the 60s/70s type.
