If the records puts some cash in the songwriters pocket I do not mind at all , and I doubt if the songwriters mind too.
Bit like the Womack story when The Stones covered " It's All Over Now ' he was fuming till the writers cheque came in.
Through your opening post I have listened to this often and it has now got me singing the chorus in my head at regular intervals .
I can do without the backing singers though , they are dire
As much as I respect the people's above views to me this record is poor to my cloth ears ., the backing singers sound as though they were on mogodon.
But it's all about opinions mine is no better or worse than anyone's else's .
Be kind people
That is true about the internet and more information available than when it was wrote but I am still finding it a good read and important at this time a good way to while away the hours and days
And at £15 a bargain
A great read , finished reading my copy and it whet my appetite to finally buy a copy of "Chicago Soul" by "Robert Pruter" which I managed to get off eBay for £15 including postage , which was delivered yesterday .
It will be worth the wait Steve I assure you
I am limiting myself to a few chapters a day as not to binge on it or I would have finished reading it on the second day of recieving it
So what were the the Ric Tics that seemed to be everywhere in the 70s which I always assumed were boots , Real Humdinger, Say It , Festival Time , etc.
As I remember light coloured Red and of poor quality recordings , boots I thought ?
Just a heads up to an Aretha documentary on BBC 2 tonight at 8.30 then followed by a tribute at 10 pm , something for a bleak winter's night to savour .
I thought it was for fun only ,
If I had known there was a prize I would have taken it seriously lol
True , but I am not known as shinehead for nothing lol
