    There to win for any from Brazil , Portugal , England and Holland , Argentina and France in my opinion but a shock still possible. We have a good chance just hope Southgate does not try Walker as a third centre back to try to nullify Mbappe and play wing backs , he has tried it before .

    I might be missing the point but if us soul lovers were waiting for UK releases we would have no collections of note. UK issues were secondary to most people.

    Early days yet only Brazil , France and Spain have really shown anything but nothing to scare England only our manager with his decision making , Kane should have been subbed and why Foden was not given a run against the USA only he knows.

    Good to see the directive from FIFA regarding holding at corners , long overdue and hopefully implemented in the national leagues , just need the referees to be consistent with it a bit iffy so far a couple given and one blatant one missed. Wales definitely need a win on Friday , Iran seem poor so that is doable .

    Both labels produced some great music but both produced some rubbish too. Agree though Stax produced more grittier stuff but fortunately for me I love all styles of Soul so both labels have music I still go back to for pleasure.

    Never thought they would make a comeback Binned every one I owned years ago , no regrets either back in the day they were great but today I prefer the ease of CDs now to convert back to even buying vinyl again so cassettes are definitely a no no , still got a player and a turntable though and the records collected over the years .

    Seem to be going round in circles now , I think everyone on here knows the difference between a bona fide Soul record and a pop soul record . And pop music to me is something that falls in to no real category i.e Reggae, Punk C&W Soul , Blues etc just because a record makes the charts to me it does not make it a Pop record just a record that has sold well to make it popular.

    If I turned up at across the board night i would expect to hear some Northern , crossover , Rnb not Wooly bully ,red light spells danger those are the tunes I would expect to hear in the pubs that still have pull a bird or bloke night disco with some karaoke thrown in .

    If I had bought that blind cheap years ago it would have gone straight in the bin . No Soul in there at all and even Northern soul with its rich diversity of sounds played I am sure any DJ who found a copy would have ditched without even a try to break it .

    The dinosaur quote was in regards of people who only want music on vinyl only and stupidly imo miss out on great music because is not on that format when it is released on CD or download only .

    Nothing to add to the thread about Vinyl releases but just a comment about the not buying sounds on different formats . If I had not embraced CDs in the 90s I would have missed out on some great soul music. And still true today with downloads , it's about the music to me I will take it on any format after all it is to listen to .
