  1. Are you keeping them in boxes too big for the amount of records if so packing them with paper etc may alleviate the problem , Bought records for 50 years and never had a problem.
  2. Up to the dj in my opinion it is he/she that will take the flack if any comes but the idea of waving the original around for validation is ridiculous to me might as well leave it at home and as said above just play something else.
  3. Yes the U.S. got some dross there, but I saw a documentary on the Dave Clark Five and was surprised to find they were hugh over there with 17 Billboard top 40 hits and a Billboard #1. No mean feat.
  4. David Ruffin takes this to a new dimension
  5. Love this version of the Bob Marley classic by Chuck Jackson his version on EMI leaves me cold though this is the version for me.
  6. California Deaming = Bobby Womack Do What You Gotta Do = Al Wilson
  7. What ! Try it you'll like it
  8. Nice to see you have come out to play Nice selection.
  9. Opinions, opinions, Robb That pairing is not shabby though
  10. Parliaments = Don't Be Sore At Me / All Your Goodies Are Gone. Precisions = If This Is Love / You'll Soon Be Gone.
  11. I will take your word for it and scrub my favourites from my mind and imprint those you have mentioned
  12. Not a christmas gift but my Mother once bought me a bottle of clearasil spot lotion from the seaside , not very subtle my Mother.
  13. Could have been worse could have bought ewe a sheep breeds calendar lol .
  14. Most uptempo records always sound better in a venue. I have heard records out which I own and thought wow only to play it the next day and I think it must be a different record , the atmosphere makes the record in some cases.
  15. Really ! Obviously your soul journey is just beginning there are thousands of great cheap records out there.
  16. "We can make it" obviously has the riff off The Supremes intro but the other side to me sounds a bit like "Keep On Pushing" by The Impressions to my ears.
  17. Does nowt for me seems disjointed to me and all over the place but that's my opinion .
  18. The Charles Mann and Don Covay seem apt with the situation lol
  19. Is this it as said by Soulwolf. Very nice too , got a Richard Caiton type voice and groove on this to me, which is no bad thing.
  20. Thanks for these Chalky. Thought Voices was the best soul mag , something for all lovers of soul music , northern, modern, crossover, clubs , albums 45s artist features etc. also some great regular lists off Rod to satisfy every soul lover, had some great stuff off those .
  21. Seems that every new recorded record posted on here is as far removed from the soul music I grew to love as could be , my idea of soul music is recorded in the USA.
  22. Thought the lady was the best dancer , but the problem today with mobile phones etc. filming endless dance routines at venues is the scrutiny put on people obviously some enjoy it but not all . Glad my attempts on the floor where never recorded I was a tryer at best I was captured at Bradford once just sat about and that was enough for my exposure.
