  1. I started the topic just to post the link and maybe get some reaction from people who attended the Mojo, then it seemed to be going down the route of other 60s clubs which there is plentiful of topics on that subject. Did not know the etiquette on locking topics but happy to reopen and sorry for any inconvenience.
  2. Strange thing about the guy I posted about above 2 years ago in the summer he knocked on my door ( he did not know I lived there) to ask about and get some advise on my hanging baskets ! which he said were the best he had seen, he was surprised to see me come to the door How times change an old mod and an old skinhead talking about hanging baskets .
  3. I worked with a guy who was a few years older than me who was a mod in the sixties who went to the mojo, he met his wife there but he had no interest in soul music at all. He and his brother in law had just purchased a scooter for runs out in the summer this was around 2018 he was well into his sixties by then.
  4. Before my time but maybe of interest to others, the artist roster was interesting , Otis Clay and Wilson Pickett amongst some other soul greats. https://sheffieldmusicarchive.co.uk/cp-venues/king-mojo-club/
  5. Possibly saw this page below https://www.discogs.com/artist/578982-Cookie-His-Cupcakes
  6. Not need Thomas Tuchel to get us through that group, Thomas The Tank engine would do.
  7. Thanks to everyone’s input much appreciated.
  8. No probs, I think with him just delivering parcels that day and howling with rain and blowing a gale it was a genuine mistake and fair play to R.M. for calling on me and explaining the situation I assume the people whose parcel it was must have been in contact with R.M. to explain, I was more annoyed with the neighbours for not having the decency to call round and say the parcel had been taken round to them a day later by another neighbour common decency costs nowt.
  9. Thanks, but please read my posts from Tuesday and yesterday, good info for anyone in a similar situation in future. Jut to add it was Royal Mail postal deliveries not the letter deliveries and it was Sunday too.
  10. The postman was at fault he wrote the wrong number on the card but we all make mistakes, more annoyed with the neighbours for not coming to tell me it was handed to them a day later. But my own ideas how do do things are not how other people always work, thanks again for your help.
  11. Thought you might be interested in an update with you replying to my plea for help. The postman who delivered the said parcel has just called at my house on a complaint call and told me that the parcel had been delivered to my direct next door neighbour who lives directly next to the missing mail address and he never came to my door and the GPS was showing that, he also called at the recipient of the parcel to explain the situation to them. One piece of information for anyone who is ever in a similar situation is the Royal Mail act upon complaints by sending the postperson who delivered the parcel to try to rectify the situation before taking any other action.
  12. Thanks for your advice it gave me the push to go and see the neighbours and clear it up, pity the neighbours didn't have a bit more decency about them. Thanks again.
  13. Just been round to the neighbours house and lo and behold someone had called yesterday to give them the parcel, thought the t**ts would have had the decency to come and tell me it would have saved me some stress.
  14. Thanks, I was thinking of going round and asking but did not think it would achieve anything they were OK when they called but It seems strange and only the postman really knows. My hands do have identifiable features due to operations but unfortunately they did not show on the photo shown to me but the door looked a different colour to mine even the lady who's parcel was missing said that.
  15. I had a near neighbour knock on my door Sunday afternoon saying a parcel had been delivered by the Royal Mail to my address, which it had not,she also said the driver had not tried to deliver it to her address because they had been in all day, I explained to her the parcel was not at my address. 2 hours later her partner turned up and asked the same question and showed me the proof of delivery on his phone, which showed my address pinpointed on the map and a hand taking the parcel in but no number on the door or any discerning features to identify my property and definitely not me taking the parcel. Has anyone any idea what action if any I should take because I am worried that the neighbours think I have stolen the item.
  16. Are you the promotion person ?
  17. Why do you seem to want an endorsement for type of music these guys are producing, if it makes them successful and happy good luck but the music they produce is not Soul music in the way most on here perceive it.
  18. Good to hear that this cover version will have an impact on the rare soul scene.
  19. It's hardly keeping the music relevant it is taking Northern Soul into tribute type shows territory. I will stick with the real deal.
  20. This record has nothing to do with the progression or keeping the music alive, it is a attempt to make money on the back of a Northern classic and an attempt to get people on here to get the record on to the BBC 2 playlist.
  21. There is still loads of stuff out there I have never heard or own to keep me going for the rest of my life, I suppose if your taste in soul is mainly northern maybe most of the stuff is out there ? but my taste in soul is all sorts so al is never going to be needed to get my fix still loads to hear and be amazed at for me.
  22. From "Moses Smith YouTube" channel. Do not think it is the philly guy.
  23. Just more over saturation of football, more games never make anything better usually the opposite, players run in to the ground by club and country, I know they are well paid and molly coddled but they are also performers and entertainers which leads to a poorer spectacle for all concerned in the long run. Less is better in my opinion and not all these bloated Uefa competitions.
