  1. Tragic news Chalky, heard earlier today, but didn't want to believe it, sadly, it's now sinking in that he's gone. Gary was a good bloke, and will truly be missed by everyone who knew him. Thinking of Ronnie & their children at this painful time. Rest In Peace Gary My Deepest Sympathy Alison x
  2. Cool !! One of my favourite Motown tunes, just a shame that Morrison's didn't think of the idea first, then it would have been really cool
  3. I'm too upset about this to add anything in great detail at the moment. Have been there since day one, and by god I'll be there for the grand finale ..... with plenty of tissues!! Means the world to me this place, as do all the people who have walked through it's great doors Ali x
  4. What about a simple "The Soul Garage" It does sort of lean more towards "soul" but if you designed your flyers/posters in a way to represent the "garage" element then that may work. I loved "The Boom Boom Room" !! but possibly doesn't cover the "soul" element Good luck, hope you find the right name Ali
  5. I can't like your post Aid, as I've run out of "likes" today so I'll quickly say (before we get told off for going off topic ) I agree with you 100% (especially about Maguire) Also feel Leeds should have tried to use Ryan Hall more. George Gently wasn't so bad after all (for a Sunday night programme), light entertainment which touched on very valid race issues of the 60's Ali P.S. Will PM you about odd the correct shaped balls
  6. I didn't go A girl at work was getting married, and I couldn't get out of it I maybe should have tried harder, as the last time I went to Wembley, we won (1999) Well done Aid, the best team did win
  7. obtw off topic but ...... well done yesterday
  8. Great post Nice to see it from another angle so to speak
  9. After all these years, I never knew you had a website Dave. Just had a quick look, FANTASTIC!!! even with some dodgy ones of me on them Keep on snapping Ali x P.S. Vickie got in touch with me about the reason why she didn't make Cleethorpes on the Saturday, no doubt she got in touch with you also ..... blxxding puppies
  10. Good blog Cheers for sharing x
  11. Not today, it's absolutely pxssing it down, best keep hold of them anoraks until our Summer is officially out of the way
  12. I'm referring to the even older biddies calling it dreadful music, not me. I thought it was FAB, honest ! For a Sunday night, it was excellent viewing for me. PS Hope you both looked after each other x
  13. Spot on!! On the flipside, it probably lost a few million as well, as I'm sure some old biddies (even older than us lot!) turned off when that dreadful music came on
  14. I can't stop laughing at this post Brilliant !!! x
  15. I wouldn't say folk are analysing it too much, or nit picking. If you look back, the majority of the people on the thread enjoyed it for what it was. There is only a handful who were bored shxt less, & thought it was bollox (their words, not mine) or a waste of their life. The recent posts are people being jovial, which I'm finding funny on this wet miserable bank holiday. All the best Ali
  16. I enjoyed it, quite a lot actually , thought Bacchus practising his dancing in the cop shop was hilarious, and I chuckled when I saw the FW. We all know it was factually incorrect, but it didn't deter from the STORY. The programme covered the issue of Racism well, and yes, "most" of society have moved on, but that doesn't mean we should forget. It was good seeing Sammy, and him having a talking part, albeit 7 words. Well done Sammy , how could anyone refuse to trade with you. The ending was a bit of let down, I kept changing my mind as to who had murdered Dolores (I won't divulge the ending incase some haven't seen it yet) All in all, a good watch for a boring Sunday night
  17. I switched off after half an hour of Grandmaster Flash, he was giving me a stonking headache, and it was all so weird, like you say, seeing the camera pan out and all you're left with is the dj playing to the studio of erm cameramen. I didn't catch the earlier documentary, but I'm gonna give it a whirl on 40D later (I can see it's been slated, but it will still be better than the other t.v options tonight)
  18. and a good rugby team once
  19. Was Doncaster Warehouse the one where they had that London Bus in the yard (or maybe it was in the Warehouse) that you could on to chill. If so, I've been there, if not, frxgg knows where I was
  20. Here here! how can a character of such standing, seem to disappear. Fantastic dj, and introduced a lot of quality music on to the mod scene, as did Mace, Rob Messer & some cat called Lenny
  21. To be fair, I probably did like the record, I just wasn't at the height of my zone at that moment in time Don't change your ways Len
  22. I was just going to ask you that question! Had some crazy times when Dom was about, usually involved fighting with the locals on Mod Rallies (him, not me!) Len - Danny Huff & the Ugly Bugglies :o) I was at that rally, & I apologise for giving you the evils lolol
  23. Over £4k !!!!! Well done guys, not forgetting Julia & Jock
